Trans Atlantic weather in November.

We just completed a TA from Southampton to port Everglades last month.

The bad news:

London was cold with on & off showers

Leharve was cloudy & windy

Vigo was clear & sunny

Lisbon was wet

Ponte Degada was beautiful

4 day crossing was on & off rain

Bermuda was mild but raining

The seas weren't very rough except when travelling through the Bay of Biscayne.

The good news:

The weather was apparantly better than any day in Vancouver, BC at that same time:)

We did the Silhouette in very late October(last year) arrived Nov.1 and the seas were very rough. Our last stop in Europe was Lisbon and it was pouring rain and very windy. The water was crashing up to the top of the ship ,we are lucky we do not get sea sick .It was quiet a trip we really loved it.

Wish I could loan you our luck. We have been on 5 TA's including one (Of the best) on =X=, all in late Nov/early Dec, and all have been great. Good weather almost all the way, calm seas and able to enjoy every day on deck.

Have a great cruise!

A lot depends on the route; a crossing from say London to New York will on average incur significantly cooler temperatures and rougher waters than a crossing from Civitavecchia to Miami. Also the later in November, the cooler the temperature will be on average. In general there is often a variety of weather during any given crossing; some days warmer, some cooler - some days smooth seas, some days rough. There is even the potential for a hurricane impacting the weather as it is the tail end of hurricane season. While most crossings have more good weather than bad, this is something that can never be predicted on any given crossing - so if cool weather and/or rough seas would cause you to not enjoy the cruise, a transatlantic may not be the best option.
