New Breeze Review from December 8th

The tour of the ship is about complete...so I left off the Ovation Theater...it wasn't very photogenic...plain jain....nothing elaborate or outstanding. Kind of a disappointment...you will see what I mean.

 

Here's a beautiful sunset as we got closer to St. Thomas.

Our driver stopped for a photo op of Magen's Bay from the top of the mountain. Magen's Bay has been rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world.

 

 

 

 

Unlike our later snorkeling adventures in Antigua and Tortola, the water here took some time to get used to...it was cold at first....

If you look up the side of the mountain you will see the tram cables leading to Paradise Point...

 

 

The ring I bought my wife for Christmas....Sapphire and diamonds....Sapphire is her favorite and her birthstone.

Let me stop here and say this....while we were attempting to get back on the ship, a woman walked right off the pier and fell down into the water between the pier and the Breeze. Security closed down the gangway in a driving rainstorm, and brought over rope ladders to try and get her out. We watched them get her out, and they put her in a wheelchair. She had scrapes and bruises on her, and we heard later that she had broken her arm. It was just a tropical downpour. Carnival handed out towels as we got back on board.

My wife loves her towel animals. It would be a deal breaker for us if Carnival quit doing them.

That would be our excursion...wouldn't have been bad except the swells were too large for good snorkeling. We had a tough time snorkeling here.

Inside after we decided to camp out inside...where the rum punch was kept. Not necessarily why wee went in there....it was just more comfortable than sitting on the webbing.

This is where we went snorkeling....the caves were very close to the coral so you had to be careful...very colorful fish and the water was much calmer. The reef was beautiful here. I loved it. Wife did too.

shopping left a lot to be desired....if you're going to shop on this itinerary....do yourself a favor and do it on St. Thomas....plus you're allowed twice as much duty and tax free if it comes from St. Thomas

Fun day at Sea

In Nassau we had already been there once and went to Atlantis, so this time we went to Junkaroo Beach and the Straw Market for some exercise.

 

 

Atlantis: do you see that bridge between the hotels? It's really a suite and we were told on our last trip that Michael Jackson had paid $25,000 for one night in that suite. I'd never......oh well..lots of I'd nevers with MJ
