Bringing liquor on board...a different question!

I know you can bring a bottle of wine on board, but can you bring a bottle of champagne on board? We board on my moms birthday and I plan on slipping into out cabin before she can and set up a gift basket that would include a bottle of champagne.

Can it be brought on board without much hassle so she doesn't see it going through security? I plan on carrying on everything as we don't bring much luggage.

Any other ideas for the basket? She likes the casino but I'm not sure how to include slot credits in the basket.

Thanks cc!

I am fairly certain that champagne is considered to be wine and can be brought onboard. As far as getting it through security without her seeing it let her go first with one or two others in your party between you, that way she will be on the other side when you open your carryon. If there is time you could get one of the new Carnival gift cards that she could have put on her account for whatever she wanted to use it for.

Champagne is actually sparkling wine...unless the champagne is actually from the Champagne region of France. You can look at your bottle and it will probably have in smaller print...Sparkling Wine.

You will have no problems whatsoever...or at least I have never had a problem bringing on Champagne.

Even if it is from the Champagne region, it's still sparkling wine. It just may not say it on the label.

I know when I went back and read what I typed earlier I could not edit my wording. Actually meant to say it shouldn't be called Champagne unless actually from the region of Champagne in France. So, yes, all champagne is sparkling wine.
