Endangered Species Sighted On Prinsendam

The first thing we used an boarding, after lunch, of course!, was to go and look at those photographs of the officers. Now, sometimes you can find a few on the big screen by the Explorations Cafe (S and R class), sometimes not. It was a nice touch and we appreciated it.

We, too, miss the board where they used to post photos of the Officers and tell their rank. We often purposely went to see the Board (opposite Front Office on "S" ships) and have noticed it's absence on our last how many cruises. :(

On our Amsterdam cruise during the summer, the travel guide used the "open view" desk near the front desk. The GRM was in an office adjacent to the front desk, with a closing door. Often the door was open, though, and we often saw her speaking with passengers when we passed.

On the Nieuw Amsterdam cruise during Christmas 2012, there were two desks on either side of the 'hallway' with a decorative glass partition, but no closing door. One was assigned to the married couple serving a Future Cruise Consultants... clearly labeled... even had a picture of the couple sitting on the desk when they were not sitting there holding office hours. The other desk had no labeling or signage, but I did see a woman in white uniform speaking with passengers every now and then... perhaps this was the GRM. The "open" desk was a support for pictures of the travel guide and the shopping ambassador, but we didn't require their services... so I don't even know that they held office hours. None as we passed. (Our cabin was on the same deck as Shore Excursions and Front Desk... just on the other side of the midship elevators, so we passed quite often.)
