sunlover5 Posted January 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2013 Not new to cruising, but haven't been in a few years and this will be our first time on Princess. We are doing the Canada/New England in Oct. and trying to decide on a cabin. We have had all types but feel we would not use the balcony as much on this cruise. Maybe some that have done this cruise can tell me different!! But if we chose an OV which deck would be the best?? Seems there is a deck above/below that has activity like dining room, etc. Maybe on Princess you can't hear what's above or below????? Thank you for any information you can give me. I appreciate it very much!
Pam in CA Posted January 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2013 I think the oceanview cabins on Emerald deck are more likely to be quiet. Just make sure you are not above the soundstage of a lounge. Consider an unobstructed oceanview. Some are pretty unobstructed. Check out this website to see which are least obstructed. https://sites.google.com/site/cabinviewbyrenmar/

Suzanne123 Posted January 12, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2013 Another vote for Plaza . Loved our ocean view in 334. Take a look at the deck plans, as cabins farther forward had trouble with noise from Princess Theater, but ours was perfectly quiet. Very convenient, too. Rare Cruise Raider Posted January 13, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2013 We usually stay midship on the Emerald deck -- on the port side. It is over the jewelry store or boutique shops and under a deck of cabins. Very quiet, very stable....and perfectly situated by the stairs / elevator bank. Also, the obstructions aren't too bad if you choose anything between E402 - E416. There is also a big savings for accepting this level of obstruction, which is not a lifeboat. You will still get plenty of natural light in your room.
sunlover5 Posted January 13, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted January 13, 2013 Our TA booked us E405. Looks like crooner bar is below. I think 406 was available....is port side better?? Looks like there is no obstruction so that is good....Thanks for the suggestions!
