Questions and Comments about Paradise Beach!

Thanks Tom! I hope you have fun in NY as well! I've never been there either! What do you do with the videos...are you serious? They don't end up on "Girl's Gone Wild", do they? In my case, it would have to be called "Mom's Gone Wild"! Do you have a live web cam there? That would be cool...I could call my friends and tell them to log on & see what fun we were having! I definitely plan on using my snorkel gear off your beach. The only places I've really snorkeled is off the beach of our resort in Tulum, in Akumal, Xaac Bay, and Xel Ha, all which were great I thought! We booked a 1pm snorkel tour with some trimaran leaving from Palm Beach, so we'll see how much better your waters are! I'm sure I won't be disappointed! I like swimming and diving down, so I doubt I'll splurge for the snuba this time. Thanks for all your help and encouragement! I am TOO excited!!

Laje - I couldn't understand your post about taxi drivers bringing you back to the pier. What time did you leave Paradise Beach? We don't arrive on Cozumel until afternoon, so I just want to be sure we have a ride back to the ship! Thanks

Hey Leje...you must have been there the same time we were...We were down closer to the pier...It was just beautiful...we were sitting right in front of the bungee thing...

We had nachos and quesadillas...they were great...

There were 2 topless sunbathers down our way...they happen to work on the Miracle in the casino...(we found that out after seeing them there that night)

Not a problem though...didn't bother us at all...

One of our best days of the cruise.

Hey LAJE (pronounced with a French accent, I remember :)!)

Thanx for the great review and recommendation...hope to see you again!

leahjade...you'll always have a ride back. When it gets late and there are only a few people left, the cab drivers go to your chair and ask if you want them to wait for you...no problemo!

love2cruise...glad you enjoyed your day with us!

  • 2 weeks later...

Would Paradise Beach be a GREAT beach for our group? The ages in our group are 4, 5, 14, 35, 36, 81, & 85. We are taking our children & my grandparents on this trip, hubby & I have been to Cozumel earlier this year but not to Paradise Beach so just need some input here.

Pap & Grandma will just be interested in relaxing, eating, and drinking. My concern is this a good beach for the youngest 2 in our group??

Thanks for any input!! If you feel another beach would be best for us please let me know which one.

Hi - Paradise Beach would be an excellant choice for your group. The beach is very nice. They offer the use of all water toys for a nominal fee. It was $5 each last January but I think I read on the boards that it went up to $8 each. There was no charge for umbrellas or chairs. Also no admission charge. The only thing they ask is that you buy food or drink there. The food is excellant. The beer is good and cold. There are also clean restrooms and changing facilities.

I would suggest getting there fairly early as the beach really starts filling up around 10 or so. Just grab a couple cabs at the cab stand. It's clearly marked. They'll take you right to the entrance and there are plenty there for the return trip. The cab fare we paid was $12 each way for 4 people.

Have a great cruise.

Thanx for the answer cruztime...glad you had a good day with us!

I would just add that while beach clubs can get crowded on days with many cruise ships in town, that is not the case in Low Season. As you are coming next week, you won't have the crowds to deal with...not till November actually!

Hasta la vista!

We spent the day at Paradise Beach on Wednesday and had a terrific time. Not too crowded and plenty of places to sit. My kids have a ball, they loved it (ages 3 and 5). I would highly recommend going, it was one of the highlights of our cruise.

Were there any shady spots on the beach? (like umbrellas) I want to be on the beach but would like to stay out of burning sun. I know that sounds crazy but even with SP45..put on every hour or two.....I burn! I also want to be able to jump into the ocean!:D

We were at Paradise Beach last Thursday. Sorry we missed you Tom. Your staff treated us very well. The beer was cold and the food was great. We had a group of 20 (adults and teenagers) and everyone was very impressed with your place. It was a breeze to get there and when we were ready to go the taxis were right out front. A no brainer type of day. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thanx so much!! Up till 5 months ago I was so not into babies, had to kinda fake interest in newborns and baby pics etc. NOW I'm on cloud nine! Read my BabyCenter.com emails everyday, watch the Discovery Health Channel baby shows, chat up parents of babies on the beach, talk to my unborn son...thank God Mother Nature flipped that switch in my head!!

Beware if you're visiting PB after Luka's birthday...you'll be suffering through a stack of baby pics!! (Hmmm....maybe I'll post them on our website!)

DB...thanx for the gift, that's sweet! I'm sure I can find something around the bar to help you celebrate the big 2-5...see ya soon!

I am cruising next January with my mom (78) and dd (21). Will there be plenty to keep such a varied group occupied and not bored? We are trying to decide between PB and Chankanaab. I don't want my mom to get bored on the beach, but my daughter and I want to parasail, so we are pushing for PB. But I think my mom would enjoy the Botanical Garden. Don't know if we can do both and still get shopping and :D Carlos and Charlies in, too!! We are in Cozumel 9AM-9:30PM.

Also, what is the weather like in January? Will the water be warm? We will be there Jan. 5.

AND congrats on the baby Tom!:)

Oh, one more thing...is there a Harley Davidson store in Cozumel?

Thanks!

Jules

Is this the beginning of the new Paradise Beach hockey team? Any chance of finding ice around there (besides in our drinks!) ;)

Isn't it amazing how our attitudes change once a baby is part our our lives! Like you, I could not have cared less about babies until I had my own. Now 15 years and 3 kids later, I ADORE babies. Not enough to have another one but still love them...

Glad everything is going well!

Lo siento amigo,

I'm so sorry that I didn't open this thread sooner. Congrates on PB Tom Jr. I can't wait to see his pictures. Maybe I can see him, for real, in January.

God Bless.

We're cruising 10/30/05 on the Elation and I'm pretty sure we'll be spending most, if not all, of our Cozumel day at Paradise Beach. The more I read about it the more excited I get.

I was looking for parasailing and we can even get it there.

My husband, active-duty USAF, just wants a "relaxing tropical beach day" in one of our stops, so I think this suits the bill. I am absolutely thrilled that we've found PB and PB Tom here, and sincerely hope I don't push him to the point of exhaustion with the number of questions I'm sure I'll have for him!!

Speaking of which... How much $$ should we budget for lunch and cocktails while we're there if we spend a few hours there? I tried to access the website on my Firefox browser but it wouldn't take, so I couldn't get to the menus. Any help anybody could offer would be appreciated!

THANK YOU!
