Questions and Comments about Paradise Beach!

Was there in Dec. snorkling was so so, much better off the beach at Tapas at Costa Maya. There is not a lot of bottom structure out there, so not a lot of animals.

Our Critic Group did have a great time here however. Drink prices were good, their fresh coconut drinks out of the nut are pretty popular.

If snorkeling is your main activity, you need to head to a place with a rocky shore, like Chankanaab (there are other places, but I've only been there...check the Cozumel or snorkeling boards). Paradise Beach has a sandy entrance, so, snorkeling wouldn't be so great. Also, fyi------entrance and chairs are still free, but to use any of the water toys, including mats, you need to buy a $5 wristband. You will still need to put a refundable deposit down for the kayaks and snorkeling equipment. They have a website listing their menu prices; you should be able to do a search to find it (google or on the Cozumel boards).

Ww were there end of Oct.--sad I missed fresh coconut drinks! But love that Sol!

Free entrance, $5 wristband for activities is a deal! We had a wonderful waiter, chicken wrap was delicious. Got henna, DH and I each had a WONDERFUL massage for $10 each for 25 min! This was 1/2 the printed price + 5 min. Miguel approached me w/ the great price--how could I resist? And he was every bit as good as massages at home!

We enjoyed all our ports, but wished we had gone straight to Paradise Beach when docking in Cozumel--though would've hated to miss Carlos & Charlies!

Happy cruising!

Kristin

Agree completely. We went to Chankenaab the first week in April and the snorkeling was awesome. Lots of sand to walk and sit in, but very rocky to enter the water. Once past the rocky steps into the water, saw so many fish, including a barracuda. Our ship got held over in Cozumel that evening due to bad weather near Costa Maya (our next port), so we went to Paradise Beach the next day. Beautiful beach, great service, our boys (9 & 11) had fun in the water with all the toys, but the snorkeling was not very good. But I would highly reccomend it as a place to kick back and relax.

Chanaukaub(sp?) was a little pricey when we went in Sept. so a taxi driver recommended Corona Beach which is right next door. You still have the coral formations and the beautiful fish, but don't have to pay for it! They also have a little beach bar/restaurant that you can set your things down and get something to drink when you are finished. Taxis are always there waiting, so it isn't a problem getting back to the ship. We LOVED this little place, could've spent all day snorkeling there!!!

Tom - We'll be there on June 10. Any chance snuba will be available this soon? Can't wait to visit PB. I've read so much about it on the boards. Looking forward to the margaritas and nachos!

OK. Snuba will be starting up Monday, June 6th, cost $45USD and can take a max of 4 at a time. It'll be 1st come, 1st serve which shouldn't translate to much of a wait in slow season...have muchisimo fun!
Thank you, Tom

I'm sorry that we'll miss you! Have a great trip! I love NYC! My daughter and I were there last weekend to celebrate her 13th birthday on a mother-daughter trip. Enjoy some cheesecake and pizza for me!

Tom...you better not be in NY on June 14th! Were you hiding the snuba secret from us? It might make the difference between us going snorkeling elsewhere and staying there all day! Do you have good snorkeling offshore there? I don't mind swimming out a ways to snorkel, but I didn't think you had good reef action there...let me know if I was mistaken! By the way...are you the same place as Playa Mia???

khank...oh yeah! Pizza will be the only thing we can afford after paying those hotel bills for 10 nights!! Have a great vacation as well!

nursejewels...I just confirmed our hotel for 10 nights arriving June 9th :( but I've informed the staff to take lots of video of y'all that day so I won't miss a thing!

We've recently moved our buoys further out to incorporate more coral heads into our snorkel/swimming/SNUBA area. Lots of rays, lobster, crab and even a couple of moray eels making their homes there. Our snokeling isn't as good as a rocky site like Dzul-Ha, but it's pretty good for 1st timers..lots of stuff to see.

Playa Mia is about a 5 minute walk south of us....have a great vacation, don't fall off the bar!!

First of all, HI TOM, Roberto & Antonyo!!!!!!:D It was really nice to meet you! Thanks again for the shots and your warm hospitality!:p

PB was wonderful!!!!! we arrived to PB that greeted us with a nice entrance surrounded by palm trees. The taxi driver assured us that will would be drivers later in the afternoon to take us back to the pier. (Nonetheless he was right). We entered in and were asked for $5 each for our wristbands to use all the water facilities (all water ammedities that did not have motors on them - such as water floaties, kayaks, water trampoline, water iceberg and snorkeling gear...to use the snorkleing gear, there is a $20 deposit ... i paid a $20 deposit for my daughter to use a life vest to swim out to the water trampoline.

We were escorted by Roberto to our lounge chairs and umbrellas which were right by the water! There were 3 ships in that day and no it was not crowed but we had a few families there visiting the beach.

My girls (13 & 8) enjoyed the water trampoline...my dd 13 tried the water iceberg but was unsucessful climbing up...it takes alot of upper body strength. I do have to say that we a couple of funny pictures of her trying to get up on there! LOL!

Antonyo guided us with our gear to kayak out to sea in which the girls and I had a blast! The waters were a little choppy because of what looked like a storm was coming....clouds got cloudy and started to turn gray and the wind picked up...but guess what...The rain held up and it soon cleared .... all in all a beautiful day being that of not too much sun, not too hot, but just perfect with a cool breeze!

My DD's skipped having thier hair braided which shocked me...they really like having that done at home with thier friends. Instead they tried the Bungy jump trampoline ($10 each - for approx 10 minuets) which they just loved!

(except by the time they were done thier stomach and leggs were soar - but definetly worth trying again our next visit!)

My DH rented a waverunner and he took turns riding each of us out...it was one of those moments you won't forget seeing the neon colors of the ocean and some BIG fish! LOL!

My DH & I topped off our stay with a massage --- AHHHHH! Words cannnot describe the blissful tranquility of that experience!:p The ladies even adjusted our drinks under the table to sip on the straws of our pina colada's as we were pampered...funny thing is...not even a minuet had gone by that the message was sooo tranquill that i just spit my staw out! LOL!

My youngest daughter had two temporary tatoo's done ...make sure if you have one done to come back after 10 min to have them put vaseline on it....it may sting some, but the tatoo will last longer. My oldest daughter bought some souveniours at the front of PB and back at the pier. i WOULD DEFINETLY RECCOMMEND PARADISE BEACH FOR EVERY FAMILY.

Laje;)

Forgot to mention...

That the cab ride was $12 each way....No there were no topless sunbathers, the entire family loved the hammocks!, and we didn't order any food ...because of the horror stories from relatives and some friends that ate at the other parts on the island...be sure to ask tom about that... however we did order some 2 adult pina coladas, 1 virgin colada, 3 smoothies, and 3 sol's (name of brand - compared to Corrona.) Our total bill came to $50....Definetly well worth every penny spent...Paradise BEACH made our vacation!:)
