curious_st Posted February 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2013 I am thinking about these as gifts. Does anyone have one? Does it hold up well? What age group would this work for? I am also considering the nylon crossbody pouchette. http://www.dooney.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=44598

I am also considering the nylon crossbody pouchette. http://www.dooney.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=44598 Hi,:) Dooney & Bourke has a very loyal "following".......what age group? Depends on the person in my opinion. I have one D&B crossbody bag but that is only because I got it on sale. There stuff is way more than I normally spend on handbags (but that is just me). You are nice though.....very nice gift:) Normally their bags hold up well....and being nylon? It should last for a long time.
iheartbda Posted February 24, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2013 I agree with Lois.:) It also looks like it's not limited to any age group.
Rare Scrapnana Posted February 24, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Nice gifts! I agree that any age would like the bag. My daughter has a couple of Dooneys that she has had quite a few years. They have stood up very well. It would be a great little bag for a cruise!
curious_st Posted February 24, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted February 24, 2013 I was a little worried about the age range. These will be for my SILs, who range from mid 40s to early 50s. I am 30, and I really like the bags. I just wanted a reality check to see if some ladies agrees that these are universally appealing to all ages. Beyondthe7Seas Posted February 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2013 My mom (50's) and myself (20's) both use Dooney and Bourke. :)
hrhdhd Posted February 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 24, 2013 I think the bag is cute, but don't know what I'd use it for. With only a 6" strap drop, it's not a shoulder bag, and I wouldn't want to carry it on my arm or with my hand.
zoncom Posted February 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Some will be impressed by name of course. But to me its too small.
CELTICGIRLCRUISER Posted February 24, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 24, 2013 They are not for me either but like Kipling or something like Radley in the UK and any of the more "higher end" or well known brands (non luxury designer) department store brand they have a cult following. I think a lot of the bags from DB, athough they are not particularly cheap look like LV knock offs. http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/dooney-bourke-handbag-signature-1975-vanessa-satchel?ID=550913&cm_mmc=Google_PLAHANDBAGS-_-PLA+Top+Handbags+Brands_Dooney+%26+Bourke-_-45351537995-_-mkwid_uptrJeNL&gclid=CLzizvKE0LUCFQjNnAodcT0A-A
SadieN Posted February 25, 2013 #10 Share Posted February 25, 2013 The bag is an 'ageless' style. I think the colors could be defined by age, but then again my Mom just requested a shocking bright bag for the summer.
seacat65 Posted February 25, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 25, 2013 Nice bags but they are small and would not hold my junk that I like to carry. D&B is ageless. JMHO :)
pezhead Posted February 25, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 25, 2013 I have one. The good news it holds a decent amount of stuff--a lot more than any of my Dooney wristlets. The strap drop is a major negative. I typically use mine when traveling to keep all my valuables in one easy spot.
