Question on Sail away activities and safety procedures

Does Oceania still have sail away festivities? In 2009 on Insignia, we had wonderful drinks and canapés and music on deck when we left Venice. When I sailed again on Riviera June 2012 from Athens, there was no music or food, on deck when we sailed out of Athens. Is this normal procedure now. The second question is, if the ship is due to sail away at 5pm, when would Oceania normally hold a drill for life jackets and life boat orientation etc? Thank you

It is important to note that every port was not created equal.

Departing from Venice is always something of a spectacle, and somebody is usually recruited to do a color commentary from the bridge. Naturally, deck festivities are promoted.

piraeus-port-panoramic.jpg Piraeus just isn't in the same league, and when you factor in the labor unrest that has been going on in Greece recently, they were probably happy just to get out of the place without incident.
