lidojohnny Posted March 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2013 We have been reading the threads about the M@G's that were a little testy regarding people collecting monies for tours. As cruisers we all know the price for a HAL tour v. private. I was thinking that HAL offers different packages for wine etc., why not a package for tours. Take a number of tours at a base price and one is discounted, or take so many (within reason) tours and they are all discounted. What say you? No need to rub anyone's face in it! If Hal offered a discount for a package of tours, I doubt it would make any difference to us. We prefer private excursions because of the smaller groups and the quality.;)

I do not think this is a good idea, as it could result in tour prices increasing for each tour (to somewhat offset the multi-tour discount). After all, they price each tour to make a certain amount of profit and they would be reluctant to give this up. I have seen a similiar approach occur in Vegas, where Caesars Inc offers discounts for multi shows and buffets. In the end, they noticably increased each show's (and buffet) prices. Now it does not pay to do only one show or buffet (too expensive). DaveOKC
Krazy Kruizers Posted March 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2013 HAL is already offering discounts on a few Alaskan cruises for this year. So far no one has jumped on any of them. Thread here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1799032&highlight=promo+codes Who knows -- maybe there will be offers for other areas of the world? RuthC Posted March 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2013 For a number of reasons I take HAL tours primarily, if I'm going to tour at all. However, to get a discount, as you suggest, I would need to take a certain number of tours, or the plan could be limited to certain tours. I don't find this desirable. I don't want to feel locked in that I must take four tours to get that 5th one discounted. I just as soon pay the going rate and be able to select exactly what I want.
