SoBaycruiser Posted March 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2013 I should know this but it's been a long time since we've had assigned seating in the MDR. We will be sailing out of Dover on the Ocean Princess at 5pm. We of course want to be out and about to see the "white cliffs" as we depart. We have the early seating ( I think 6pm). Is the first night dinner very casual dress? Can you go to dinner in jeans? Or do we have to dress for dinner before departure so we are ready to go in at 6? Thanks

SoBaycruiser Posted March 18, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted March 18, 2013 Jeans with no holes are acceptable in the MDR at anytime. They may be acceptable but I seem to recall that on the smaller ships, diners dressed more country club casual. Then again it's been a while since I've been on a Princess R-ship. paul929207 Posted March 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2013 The dress code is the same as other casual nights. As mentioned above, it is rare to see jeans in the dining room on the R class ships.
caribill Posted March 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2013 Enjoy the sailaway views. As indicated by others, neat jeans are acceptable on any smart casual evening.
gcvt Posted March 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 18, 2013 Dinner on the first night is generally more casual than usual since so many haven't had time to de-wrinkle anything and some may not even have their luggage yet.
