May 19 pearl Alaskan cruise - sea day options?

I want to make the most our our first cruise and visit to Alaska! (We are in a Haven suite, if it matters for responses)

What is there to do during at sea days? How well can you see scenery/glaciers at glacier bay? Should I just expect to relax and sit on the balcony during days or do I need to look for activities). I've found NCL website to be pretty general about entertainment. Are there specific things on Pearl we shouldn't miss?

Is there anything to do at night other than musical revues/casino?

I'm a major planner so I like to know what to expect :)

Thanks!

Great choice- we also sailed alaska in a Haven suite. It was fantastic. You won't be bored- we couldn't tear ourselves away from "whale theater" on the balcony- I loved sitting out there watching the scenery and looking for whales. We saw quite a few from the balcony. Yes, Glacier Bay will be great from out there- you get pretty close to the glaciers and can really hear and feel them calving if it happens.

Having access to the Haven will also mean you have an indoor pool for your use- and hot tub- though there are not any views from in there. But it was very nice. There will also be lots of onboard stuff to do- lots of "tastings"- wine, martinis, etc.... and there's a bowling alley...

do a search on here for the Freestyle Dailies from an Alaskan cruise (I know there are some from last season) to give you an idea of what's offered during the day... but you won't be bored!

something that is easy to miss on the Pearl is the bridge viewing room....deck 11 all the way forward on the port (left) side. There is a window that lets you look in to the navigation bridge and ship's controls and you can see what the helms person sees.

There is a repeater of their computerized navigation system in that room, so you can see what the navigators see, and some historical info on the Pearl.

Most of your cruise will be in visual contact with land and you will see snow-capped mountains and lots of "green", even on a "sea day".

Do a search for any "freestyle daily" on CC and you will get an idea of the activities, even if for a different ship / sailing. You will get that daily newsletter each evening and many of us spend some time going through it with a hi-liter to pick out things to do the next day.

Have a great cruise!

You will generally have Alaska scenery nearby. And really, that's what this cruise is all about, at least for us. Unlike sea days on other cruises, only surrounded by water, on this one your sea days are full of pretty sights.

Our cruise was in Sept and our weather was cool, we spent alot of time on our balcony for the views but it was chilly! The cabin bath robes were nice and warm!

Great views, so pretty and relaxing.

Took millions of pictures! All kinds of sea life. Beautiful scenery, lots of small waterfalls and always looking for eagles!

No swimming for us, hot tub one afternoon but it was cold getting out!

We also had several days of rain

We did bowl, extra charge. We played bingo, extra charge. We attended the Naturalist meeting to hear all about Alaska and Glaicer Bay, free. We explored the ship alot and found the Bridge, very cool and free.

My husband was very excited about this trip, he had bought a map of Alaska and the Inside passage and followed along with the TV navigator each day.

An amazing trip, but because it was cold and rainy no real activites on board other than bingo.
