“Live” from the "Jewel of the Seas": April 13-April 18,2013

Good Evening Cruisers...

It's been a lively evening here aboard the Jewel of the Seas. Started the evening out after another nap of the day before making my way to Champagne Bar and then getting dinner in Tides Dining room. My meal overall was good but I really wasn't into to much eating. Second time ordering steak there that "Medium rare" means "rare" I should have remembered that from the first night and ordered "Medium". Tonights was even more undercooked than Saturday nights, I had to send it back, I didn't dare eat it. Now don't get me wrong I like rare beef, but this was way to rare. I had two nice ladies from Ohio sitting next to me and we had some good dinner conversation.

Coral Theater...I like the lights.

After dinner I made my way back to Champagne Bar for a bit then went to the 9pm show of Greg London. Now as I mentioned before I'm not a big show person, but Gregs show was good, he impersonates many artist, I stayed for most of it before it was time to move along to something different.

Currently where we were at 9:44 this evening. We are rocking and rolling a bit with winds around 25mph, guess that would explain the rocking.

Off subject I just have to comment again how much I love this ship. The ocean really is the center of attention, there are so many places you can be sitting and see the ocen from both sides of the ship, its simply amazing. Then there is Schooner bar, now this bar is by far one of the best bars along with the Safari lounge. There is so much wood everywhere in this area of the ship you can smell the wood.

Made my way to the Schooner Bar listening to Gustavo Garcia play the piano. I don't think I have it in me to have to late of a night tonight (Oh no, tonight is the 11pm poolside party) I want to be somewhat refreshed when we are in Mexico tomorrow, not that I have anything big planned. In fact I have no plans in Mexico other than walk around some and I'm on the hunt for a painted owl like the picture below that is sold at "Mexico" at Disney's Epcot. I refuse to buy one there if I might be able to get one from the real Mexico. We shall see what I find on Tuesday.

Fake "Mexicos" Owl, but it was made in the real Mexico. (Isn't everything made in Mexico now a days anyways?)

Well thats all for now. Let's see what the rest of the evening brings and if I am out late or call it a early night. Time will tell.

Today is a wing in type of day, even though during my cruises during 2012 none of them brought me here to Cozumel during 2011 I was here a few times so there wasn't anything high on the agenda. As I cruise more the ship tends to be more of the destination with the ports being bonuses, don't get me wrong I still enjoy getting off the ship and getting some of the local flavor, but I don't need an excursion to make it a great day. :-) I'm on the lookout for an owl similar to the one I posted earlier and I need two more of the Mexican blankets that the last time I was here you were able to get for $5.00 each, hopefully I'll succeed on both those missions. I don't plan on drinking while on shore for obvious reasons.

Last night I called it a night shortly after midnight. I had an enjoyable evening between the Schooner bar and the Champaign Bar, when at the Champaign Bar I was able to listen to Zig Zag that was playing in the main lobby, they are very good.

I may not have made my "Drink" quota yesterday but I wasn't to far behind. I realized what I did wrong the day before and hope not to repeat it. Around 10pm the day before I was beat tired but said to myself I can't call it a night, so I ordered a Red Bull and Vodka! Yup thats the mistake, mix that with a bunch of all types of different drinks and you create a problem. I had about four drinks and four or five soda's yesterday so I wasn't to far off the quota and will most likely make up for it whilst we are in Mexico since I won't drink on land.

Anyways I'm off to get some food and then at some point make my way to land and see what adventures I can find.

Not to hijack your thread, but I have a Hangover prevention tip that I use on Cruise ships, and my last cruises meet and greet tried it and all had great success. Here goes:

Items Needed:

- B vitamin supplement (Looking specifically for lots of B6 and B12)

- Gatorade Powder

- 5 hour energy (optional but helpful) (Contains a LOT of B)

How to Use:

- The week before the cruise start taking the B vitamin's once a day

- On the cruise ship take a B in the morning and one at night before bed

- Drink a glass of Gatorade before bed

- 5 hour in the morning as needed.

- Remember to hydrate through out the day (I find that a glass of water each time you eat is typically enough. More if you have active excursions)

With this regiment you should be able to drink freely and not have any hangover issues. I do not drink much on shore, but on a cruise ship I drink like a fish. I have never (fingers crossed) gotten a hangover on a ship because of doing this. Hope this helps someone out there!!

Chris

Cozumel. Via Mararitaville.

I'm at about 3/4 mark of today's walking and then more walking and when it just wasn't enough more walking. Much like my Key West visit. Some pictures from today's walk...
