the8re Posted April 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2013 A number of users (including me) are reporting that Early Saver rates are no longer showing up. Does anyone have insight into this?
DebJ14 Posted April 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2013 They are still there. They do however go away 3 months prior to short cruises and 5 months prior to cruises of 6 days or longer.

BigDoug Posted April 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2013 My next cruise is over 10 months away and the Early Saver rates have disappeared today.:(
fouremmetts Posted April 29, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2013 I checked for 2014 also. Not there for several cruises. Maybe they're costing Carnival too much with the price drops and adjustments.
Rare jimbo5544 Posted April 29, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2013 I checked for 2014 also. Not there for several cruises. Maybe they're costing Carnival too much with the price drops and adjustments. Just checked on the TA site as well with the same result. You may have a point there. Maybe some changes coming?
Sparky2 Posted April 29, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2013 They are still there. They do however go away 3 months prior to short cruises and 5 months prior to cruises of 6 days or longer. No they are not there. Our cruises 1/18/14 & 1/25/14 are also not showing Early Saver rates.
RVman Posted April 29, 2013 #9 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Mine is showing the military rate instead, works for me since I’m a vet and it's the same price as the early saver rate was. I usually would have to call to find out what that rate was.
CarnivalBreeze319 Posted April 29, 2013 #10 Share Posted April 29, 2013 I sure hope Carnival didn't do away with this. This would make cruising Norwegian and RCI much more comparable in price...

mazimmer Posted April 29, 2013 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Maybe this has something to do with the "news" that John Heald hinted at yesterday.
2GACruisers Posted April 29, 2013 #13 Share Posted April 29, 2013 As of now no Early Saver rates are showing after December 2013 for Legend cruises. However as stated they are showing military rates.
somesong12 Posted April 29, 2013 #14 Share Posted April 29, 2013 I checked this morning too for price drops for our January 2014 sailing and they are gone. This is what we booked under and what has kept us at Carnival! :-(
the8re Posted April 29, 2013 Author #15 Share Posted April 29, 2013 What's interesting is that if you click on the Early Savers link to book an Early Savers package, none of THOSE cruises are showing an Early Savers rate. So something is definitely munged behind-the-scenes. I'm sure this will be fixed up later today.
big_duck Posted April 29, 2013 #16 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Fascinating. And no heads up from CarnivalBreeze.

camper49 Posted April 29, 2013 #18 Share Posted April 29, 2013 No they are not there. Our cruises 1/18/14 & 1/25/14 are also not showing Early Saver rates. We are on the 1/18/14 Liberty cruise too!! Wish we could stay on for a b2b!!
cruise_girl2002 Posted April 29, 2013 #19 Share Posted April 29, 2013 I sure hope Carnival didn't do away with this. This would make cruising Norwegian and RCI much more comparable in price... not really. I looked at royal instead of carnival for my upcoming cruise..i booked 2.5 weeks in advance. I have a rate for 3 people a total (including prepaid tips for 7 days) of $1400 oceanview. I looked at royal..7 days INSIDE $1800 per person!! WTH! CarnivalBreeze319 Posted April 29, 2013 #20 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Fascinating. And no heads up from CarnivalBreeze. Yup, I didn't even see this one coming if this is the case.
cruise_girl2002 Posted April 29, 2013 #21 Share Posted April 29, 2013 perhaps the super saver rate is taking place of early saver. non-refundable deposit. I can see carnival doing away with this. royal doesn't have a early saver fare and they sell out just fine. IF this is the case is it a bummer? yeah. but carnival is a business and this is a tough economy
JP4GA Posted April 29, 2013 #22 Share Posted April 29, 2013 ES rate is gone for my June 2014. Glad I booked it a few days ago, hope I can still apply for price drops.
Buffalofirsttimer4 Posted April 29, 2013 #23 Share Posted April 29, 2013 just checked our 3/29/14 cruise and early saver is gone....how does that work when I want to check and see if I should get an adjustment (we booked early saver 4D & a 8A with a past guest in each cabin)-should I now be looking at past guest only rates to use??
Rob&Bonnie Posted April 29, 2013 #24 Share Posted April 29, 2013 It's gone on my 2/2/14 cruise on the Valor as well. I know it was there yesterday - I checked the fare and put in for a price drop and posted about how the early saver and past guest were the same rate.
fuddrules Posted April 29, 2013 #25 Share Posted April 29, 2013 This has been going on for some time. Unless something has changed, they'll be back. Try booking w/o logging in. That occasionally worked for me. Our 12/28/13 Dream cruise, they were there, then gone, then back, then gone, etc...... Not sure if it's their system or if they are just trying to keep ES bookings down.
