Ice water and lemonade

Has Carnival stopped supplying ice water, lemonade and cold towels outside the ship when returning for Caribbean ports on hot days? Just returned from a great cruise on the Freedom but none of the above was available upon returning to the ship. The Celebrity Summit was docked next to us and they had two tents, sofa and chairs, ice water, lemonade and cold towels available for returning guests. Is this another cutback/change on CCL?

Sofa and chairs...TV and remote also:confused: On the Legend in Feb and Breeze in April, there was ice water and lemonade.

We've never had cold towels on any line except Celebrity --- it is a nice touch :)

Celebrity does it right, as well as HAL. Have never had this experience on CCL, even in Europe. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen, just not on the 13 cruises we've taken with CCL in the past.

I've been on 4 Caribbean cruises with Carnival and never remember them having anything for us on our return to the ship. Now, we may have just been so anxious to get back on board and clean up, that we didn't really pay attention, but I certainly would have remembered a cold cloth, had it been offered. That would be a nice, but unexpected, touch. I mostly remember waiting in line to go through the security check.

We must have missed it on our HAL cruises --- but always on Celebrity.

One time we were waiting for a tender to return the ship in Zihuatanejo. It was very hot and there was an NCL ship in as well. We were in the Celebrity line that had shade structures erected and we were sipping our cold drinks and rubbing our faces and necks with the ice cold towels. The poor NCL folks we broiling in the sun without the amenities we enjoyed. We felt sorry for them --- it gets very hot there!

The only time we had cold drinks on Carnival was when there was a tendering problem in Belize and the line was outrageous for tenders back to the ship. They sent coolers and cups back on a returning tender to shore to help with the heat in line. No cold towels though darn it.
