How much commission does a TA make on a booking? Is it the same for alll lines and all TA's? Thanks ahead. :)

Each cruise lines pays a different commission. Some cruise lines pay high producing TA's more of a commission. In Canada , TA's make between 5-10% of the commission able fare . Example port taxes & fee don't contribute to the commission. The same for airfare.

It varies by cruise line and agency production .

15 % is a good average to go by for an agency that books

a lot of a particular cruise line.

Individual TA's working as independent contractors , such as home based TA's get a split of that % based on their contract & production.

Add to that speculative groups held by an agency where

booked guests get the group rate and amenities , agency gets the 1 for 16 guests TC $$ as a bonus.

I don't know how much a TA makes, but 3 or 4 years ago my father used a TA while I made reservation on-line. For 10-day cruise in inside guarantee he paid $25 more.

Did he book airfares with the TA???

That could be the fee they charged
