atdahop Posted June 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2005 Is it better to take Princess Insurance or to go with an outside company? Thanks, Carole
coiran Posted June 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2005 If you buy your air with Princess, then, I suggest going with Princess - If you buy your air on your own, then, Travelguard or some other independent insurance would be better. Ron
spongerob Posted June 18, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2005 One of the platinum perks with Princess is that you get the "gold" coverage at the standard rate. The only real advantage to that is that if you have to cancel, they are pretty lenient with the reasons.
Rare Coral Posted June 18, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2005 IF there are pre-existing conditions involved - I would go with a private company and would purchase insurance right away after deposit (check pre-exisiting condition clause with each company). Most of the time you need to purchase it within 7-14 days of deposit to have pre-existing conditions covered.
39august Posted June 18, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2005 As Ron said, if you purchased air on your own and a pre or post cruise hotel, then a third party carrier is for you. Princess' insurance ONLY covers what is purchased through Princess. You will find it is cheaper than Princess also.
westwind6371 Posted June 18, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2005 One of the main reasons to NOT purchase cruise insurance from the cruise line is if the company goes belly up, you could loose everything, however, that is not a problem with Princess at this time. Additionally, with Princess insurance, you can cancel at anytime for any reason and receive up to 90% credit for a future cruise. That is a really nice perk. kendon Posted June 19, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 19, 2005 With Princess insurance, the 3rd and 4th passenger (in our case, the kids) are free. Traveloguard was the price x 4.
