Gig103 Posted June 15, 2013 #53 Share Posted June 15, 2013 I love your metaphor "slower than a week in jail"! I have to ask a vernacular question if you don't mind . Am I correct that 'half 12' is half past, so 12:30? I've heard it before since I love BBC, but never really knew.
HappyChappy Posted June 15, 2013 Author #54 Share Posted June 15, 2013 Day 8 Nassau. Wake up wake up we are in the Bahamas!! We are in Nassau. They filmed a bit of Casino Royale here!! Wake up ffs KAY wake the Fk up!!!! STUART!!! WAKEY WAKEY!!!!! Bahamas!! Nassau!!! Another liner sitting right beside us!!! STUART!!! GET OOT YER BED!!!!!! That was me this morning trying to get those 2 out their scratchers this morning. Its only me who is in any way excited to be here. Last night we were all zonked by around half 11. Its now half 7. Thats 8 hours sleep. Thats plenty IMO. Especially when you are in Nassau and only have around 9 hours here. Dont want to spend the time sleeping. Ive been awake since around 6:15. Just missed sunrise. we ordered room service today for the 1st time. Bang on 7.45 it arrived. Everything we asked for was on the platter so to that point it was really good. 1 problem. We ordered tea and the hot water came in a jug that had not been properly cleaned out and reeked of coffee. So we had coffee flavoured tea. Heyho! It was a bit minging but the toast and croissants had heat in them so all was not lost. Oh the fact that Lucky Charms were in the room was enough to get Stinky oot his pit!! He demolished them and some of my toast. TBC

It was a bit minging but the toast and croissants had heat in them so all was not lost. Oh the fact that Lucky Charms were in the room was enough to get Stinky oot his pit!! He demolished them and some of my toast. So Nassau, what did we do in Nassau? Heehaw!!! Went into the main town centre and bought some sh**e! Guess who is not a HappyChappy. We are in the Bahamas and between those 2 we ended up too late to do any ship organised tour and too moany and sunburnt to go to a beach So I find myself in Nassau Bahamas and I spend my time in and out sh**ty trinket junk shops. Disaster for me! Result for those 2. What I did find in Nassau was a lovely quaint old fashioned Ice Cream Parlour which gave us a real 'Oh My Goodness Oh My Goodness' moment The Ice Cream Sundaes were sexual. Ooohhhh man amazing!!! So back on board just after 2. we hint, there are 2 entrances to the boat. You can head up past the 1st line and join the 2nd line. Its much shorter and most people dont realise its there. So back on board done a couple of quizzes, 1 (the 70s general knowledge) we might have won had the Hobbit been there and not farting around wondering what she was gonna wear for dinner. (Its Carnival woman!! You dont get dressed for dinner if you don want to) and the musicals quiz where a musical called 'Rent' was the answer we didnt know and so we lost by 1 point. Never heard of it and didny want to win anyway, Stupid 'ship on a stick' prize. And remember I am not a HappyChappy today. So back to change for dinner. Again nice meal if could have been hotter. Stuarts burger came with a wee smouldering of melted cheese and when we asked for more cheese. We were finished our meals before his cheese arrived. Just an example of the wee issues with the MDR. The show was the best of the cruise so far. A guy Ron somebody, A soul singer who was brilliant. Sung classic songs and had good audience participation. Def one of the highlights of the cruise. Then we went to an 80s party in the Red Carpet night club. Was decent. Stuart had his big Kids Club party night tonight and didnt get back home till 3am. Just like being home with the oldest bhoy coming home drunk and heading to kitchen for munch and letting off an atom bomb while there. By the time Stuart came in we were both sound asleep. But guess what? He won a Ship on a Stick!!! Yeessss I was desperate to win one of them. They are cracking wee things 24carrot gold plated plastic. Will sit nice in our display cabinet at home. ;) Well done Stuart! Day 9 at Sea. Woke up half 7. which is late for me, I think it was Stuart farting that woke me up. All the food he ate at the party last night coming back to life as gas!!! So I goes wandering, (Gets Lost) eventually come back to room at half 9 with breakfast for the others. See the TV link there to one my fav American TV shows. No?? ok you obviously have less time on your hands than I have, 6 years and a confused ending but heyho!! Now as I said I came back with breakfast and in case anyone is not aware today is Sun 16th June - Fathers Day - Now in ma hoose Fathers day means its Dad's day to do everything. And today once again I was Room Service. Also today in my neice and her husbands 1st wedding anniversary. Have a lovely day Hazel and Craigybhoy. Glad you folks are enjoying our adventures. Thanks for the nice comments. Will post more later.

Sounds like an obligatory stop while strolling in Nassau ;) Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app Its on Bay Street. Head out of terminal go through a wee alley with shops and bars and that takes you to Bay St. Turn right and its 100-200 yards away on the left side of the road. Pink building on a street corner. with shutters on the window. The parlour itself is upstairs above a trinket shop.
HappyChappy Posted June 16, 2013 Author #61 Share Posted June 16, 2013 Well what an up and down day this has been. Started off by heading to the casino for the slot pull that Maria organised and cost us $15 each and all 20 of us got equal pulls on a puggy. Well I had to leave early because it was not finished and was gonna clash with the Flags quiz which we went into with our wee secret weapon, Stuart. So the puggy was taking our money and we were losing when I left Thought nothing of it as it was only $15. Up to the Flags quiz and Stuart won it. Yes all by himself with 1 flag I guessed at that we didnt know and believe me it was a complete guess, Cameroon. He got 32 out of 35. A brilliant score. If He had not been there we would have got around 28 which would not have been enough as someone else had 30. So we (he) won another wonderful ship on a stick. Thats 2 SOAS we have and he has won both. We were just spending the day playing trivia games and gabbing to other folk and Maria came up to us and handed me a $50 note!!! After I left the slot pull someone actually won $1000 and I got my share. 1 20th of the grand. Happy days. Back to the room for a few mins and I logged onto the net to check all was ok with Jack back home and how my friends were doing in the SBA Championships back home we left the room 10 minutes later and guess what idiot features here did?? Left the fkn net logged on!!! :( When we got back to the room I noticed right away and went down to the tinternet guy on board and explained the situation. Explained it was my fault and played on his good nature to maybe get some minutes back Well we result, I got 55 mins back so quite happy with that. will post more later. HappyChappy Posted June 18, 2013 Author #63 Share Posted June 18, 2013 Elegant night tonight and a wee complaint. Its either formal or its not. There should be no inbetween. Some folk made the effort to get dolled up and some didnt bother their arse. Now a plea to Carnival. Make the rule and stick with it. Either Formal or not. Rant over!! Anyway the good day continued. Had a nice meal in the MDR which we were late for. Stuart went out the room to wait on us coming out all dolled up and he rubbed his new shirt against an oily hinge and got oil on his brand new shirt. Stupid boy!!! Cue quick change. Dinner was usual decent but slowish service. and then we went to the show Vroom which was superb. Very entertaining and high energy with cracking music. A real good show. Then we won $60 in the casino and pulled our money out before we blew it then went to the Sheila Kay comedy show which was hilarious. All in all a right guid wee day :) Last full day the morra - Scunner!! Morning all. 2 wee funny stories bvefore I start todays blog. Yesterday when I went up for breakfast I asked a server for some white toast, he gavem me brown bread toasted. I said politely 'No I want white toast! His reply 'Thats white toast' I said 'no its brown' His reply was a showstopper!! If its any more brown it be burnt' 2nd one was a conversation I had with an American passenger. We waited to get into a show but it was really busy 'choc b block in fact. So walking away from it we met an american that he had been speaking to during the cruise. He said 'you not staying for the show' My reply was its 'choc a bloc' He says.....'Is the chocolate fountain on tonight' Had to explain choc a bloc to him. will post more later. bangzoom6877 Posted June 19, 2013 #65 Share Posted June 19, 2013 I'm loving this thread!! I'm from Brooklyn, NY (one of the five boroughs of NYC, but not nearly as busy as Manhattan, and a much larger part of NYC!), and I'm glad you enjoyed our city. Sorry you had rain for sailing, but it's better to sail in the rain than not to sail at all! :) We're going on the Splendor on July 20th to St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. The only one I haven't been to yet is Grand Turk. My parents have been there and they love it. I'm looking forward to it. The last time I sailed on Carnival was in the year 2000. It was my husband's first cruise and we were engaged at the time. We went out of NYC to Canada and we had only about 10 minutes of sun the entire 5 days! It was always cloudy, rainy, and very foggy at night. Since then, we have gone on NCL a few times, but to the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean. The weather was much sunnier on those cruises! I'm looking forward to the warm chocolate melting cake. They didn't have that the last time I cruised on Carnival. I love your comment about it being sexual!! We have 2 sons, ages 6 and 8. They're looking forward to Camp Carnival. We last cruised 2 years ago on the Norwegian Jewel and although they enjoyed the camp, they were disappointed that they were not in the same group. This time, they will both be in the 6-8 group and they are very happy about that! We took 2 connecting inside cabins. 2 years ago on NCL we had 2 connecting cabins and we decided we would only cruise like that from now on with the kids. For the 4 of us it was great having the extra space and the extra bathroom. Looking forward to reading more!!

HappyChappy Posted June 19, 2013 Author #70 Share Posted June 19, 2013 Day 10 Last sea day. As usual I am Room Service' for the 2 sleeping greeting faced gits. They are always moaning about something. 'gotta sore heid' 'its too hot' 'got to iron' 'dont want to shower' 'didnt want melted cheese' 'dont wanna do this or that or the other' 'not walking awaaaaay up there' But me, I am bouncing along bringing them breakfast in bed very day now! Again after breakfast Stuart and I went to a music quiz then he headed upto Camp carnival (where he has spent most of his time with his new found pals) I then headed back to sleeping Hobbit in the room. He then met up with 2 wummmin who we ended up spending a couple of hours with them having an absolute blast. 1 was in the USAF and the other was her mum. Any way one of them was called 'Powers' and he 1st initial K so I just had to, didnt I. 'Hi I'm Kenny fkn Powers' Well that broke the ice and we then spent the next 2 hours in fits of laughter. The 4 of us headed upto the Chocolate fountain and between the chocolate fountain itself or if it was just being with me but the 3 girls were almost in a state of exctasy! The day passed really quicky and it was soone time to head back to room to get ready for our last dinner. :( As usual we were 20 mins late for dinner and the service but again as usual no major problem. Michael our waiter was brand new and his wee sidekick Romeo was excellent. Romeo has the most cheeky smile! And he smiled a lot. One of the highlights of every day was 'Showtime' with the dancing or singing waiters. Some waiters jumped of the disribution tables and danced to a 'classic' or well known tune. We then hit the Casino and lost the $60 we won last night. 'Easy come easy go' Last night show was a Carnival Legends one where the guests played the main parts. A Stars in their eyes type show. WAs very good an the last guy was amazing as Frank Sinatra singing My Way. Back to the room. Cruise almost done. One more thing to do during this cruise and its probably gonna be the highlight of the whole gig.
