So if Michelle Pimentinha is the CD for the Brazilian season on Splendour, does that mean that she will also do our T/A from Brazil to Barcelona on April 20th, or will Bobby Brown have taken over for the crossing?

That's a tough call. Michelle is accessible on FB, if you want to try to message her there for more information.

 

The info about Bobby needs further confirmation. He mentioned a while ago that he thought his next contract would be on Splendour, but did not provide specifics such as dates. So, I'm not sure if his assignment there is definite.

On that note, someone just finished a B2B review on Jewel and noted Dennis was leaving soon and mentioned Elvis "was getting a well deserved promotion to CD" While I agree with that statement, I guess that doesn't mean he will be staying on Jewel. I'll be curious about that one.

This is interesting (and exciting) info. Elvis does deserve the promotion to CD, He was a thousand times better than Carly on our Jewel cruise last year. John Blair is pretty much confirmed to take over as CD on Jewel after Dennis, but the position is open on Adventure once Mercedes leaves in March. I imagine that Elvis will remain on itineraries with a Spanish speaking clientele, and Jewel is moving to Alaska, right? So, he may be moving over to Adventure. (Purely speculation on my part!)

Jerome Sueur?) Jerome Sueur will do all of the European cruises (April 19 thru Oct 25) since he is fluent in 5 languages. He is the new regular CD on Allure until further notice.

 

Anthem OTS - Joff Eaton will be taking out the ship and continuing on as its regular CD. Ken Rush will also be onboard for the first 6-8 weeks doing behind the scenes duties to provide a smooth take out

Hi!

 

You must have missed my previous post about the Blair's. I said that all things being even, or comparable, I would pick the ship that the BLAIRS WERE NOT ON. There are so many ships that basically follow the same routes, around the same time, that I have a myriad of choices to pick from. Thanks to Donna's EXCELLENT thread regarding CD's, I can look ahead and HOPEFULLY determine who MIGHT be (or might NOT be) the CD for the sailing(s) I'm considering. That way I can make a informative choice.

 

I knew in advance that Jimmy Rhodes was going to be the CD for my 12 Night Quantum cruise. I don't like him (not like John Blair, but close !) but I wanted that particular ship, and that particular set of dates (1/11/to 1/23) in that Cabin ( Owner's Suite) and I had to take Jimmy Rhodes to get it.

 

And he was awful ! (as DonnaK and I knew he would be!) -

 

CD's can affect the mood of the cruise and I enjoy a pleasant staff, with a lighthearted feel. Doesn't "Make" or "Break" my cruise but helps to look forward to certain activities (Quest, etc!)

 

Hope this clears up any misconceptions as to the "importance" of a cruise director to me, and my cruise selection! I dislike misinformed sanctimonious advice.

During our April 27th 2014 Hawaii to Vancouver, Amy Fickette came on, replacing Ken Jones and in our opinion, she didn't have the personality that Ken did. With both Ken & Capt Sindre we had two excellant cruises just looking at the interacting of our Capt & CD with the passengers. Our Hawaii cruises was great also.

We're on Indy now. Gordon Travis is the CD now, started 3 weeks ago for 4 months. We'll try to find out what will happen after this contract is up and will post after the cruise

Are you positive that he is serving as cruise director for the entire 4 months?

 

He is listed as the Activities Manager, and just stepped up for the one sailing this week while the actual CD Jamie attended a conference at corporate headquarters.

 

My understanding is that he may be on the ship during the timeframe you posted, however he is only the CD for this week, and will be the Activities Manager for the other weeks.

 

The schedule I have posted was confirmed with all three cruise directors.

 

Can you confirm otherwise?

Apparently Carly Boileau will be on the Serenade when we are. Noticed you said she has semi-retired. At the risk of sounding prejudicial or judgemental, does this mean, coming our of semi-retirement, she will be more toned down/reserved?
