Regatta in Juneau

We got word today that rather than Victoria next Thursday we will be docking in Vancouver to have the bow thruster repaired. We will also use the inside passage instead of outside to get there.

We couldn't be happier with Oceania and Regatta! Love everything about it! I will write a review when we return home.

Hi darleen1421

Delighted you are having a wonderful time.

The DH tells me that your visit to Vancouver for the repairs follows some extensive diving investigations going on while we were in Prince Rupert - he knows about stuff like that! ;)

Lucky you having two sailings through the inside passage! :D. Hope you are having as beautiful weather as we did.

We will be sailing her in less than 2 weeks. Is it a major repair? Do you have any other details?

The weather has been pretty good -- no rain to speak of except at night. Hot in Juneau; pleasant in Ketchikan and Skagway; cool and overcast today in Hoonah. We took the afternoon train trip on White Pass and had significantly better weather and visibility than the morning trip people.

At the moment they are having lovely weather in Alaska and northern BC, while down in Vancouver and Victoria we are wondering if we will ever see summer. We had one day of sunshine on the weekend and now we are back to clouds and rain. The forecast just does not look that great.:(

Repairs were finished in Vancouver. We left there on our own on time (actually 1/2 hr early) and docked on our own in Seattle early also. I will post a review in a day or so. Loved everything about the cruise, except maybe Hoonah. More soon.

Thanks for the update and glad the repairs were completed as scheduled.

Hope you had a good day in Vancouver despite the unusually high humidity yesterday. Nice and warm though; same for Seattle. Should be a great day to explore if you have time there.

Looking forward to reading your review.

We actually didn't do much in Vancouver. Was drizzly. We went to photo shop in mall under Canada Place and used their WiFi. Also lunch at the Fairmont Hotel. We live near Seattle so have been to both Vancouver and Victoria many times.

darlene1421- thanks for the info on wifi at Canada Place. Have a friend that will be in Vancouver in a couple of weeks and isn't sure her Verizon plan will allow for "cheap" phone calls, texting, etc. so she'll be glad to get this info! c
