I uploaded some photos of our mini-suite on the Royal Princess from the 7/17 - 7/29 Grand Mediterranean cruise. They are in the Princess Cruises - Ships Photos gallery. You can find them in that gallery by searching my user name or, if you prefer, here are the links:

Thank you for posting these extended balcony photos. We will be in B429 which is similar to your balcony mini suite.

Messy cat,

Could I ask the cabin number you had? I was just speaking with friends who intend to book the Regal for a cruise next summer and want a suite. Yours looks perfect!!

Thanks!

Carole

Hi Braselton: We were on Baja deck; I believe that Dolphin is larger but the size of our balcony was great

and yes Carole, the dinner and the whole birthday cruise was something special. Not long enough for us!!

They were in either B734 or B735. Aft suite.

The suites on the side have the normal shallow balconies.

The aft corner suites have the large ones. Marina and Riviera have the largest but have no cover whatsoever, leaving them open to the elements AND he stares of the people above.

Baja and Dolphin are partially covered and also almost as large as Marina and Riviera.

Does anyone have any pictures of the aft premium deluxe balcony cabins. I am particularly interested in the orientation of the bed. Will we rock side to side or head to toe?

Thank you.

Are the balconies the dpsame size on all the premium deluxe cabins?

I'd love to see an interior picture as well.

After a ton of research (because we're staying in one and that's how i am) I've concluded that those balconies are exactly the same as the suite balconies I wrote about) Marina and Riviera are the largest but uncovered. Baja and Dolphin are large and half covered. The rest are smaller and uncovered

Sorry the picture is so small. I thought I had saved it larger but that's all I can find.'

Check post #120 - it's MUCH larger there!

Hi Carole

We were in B735 and loved it. However, be aware that we experienced soot on the balcony; sometimes a few flecks but on one occasion it was quite bad. We wrote to Princess but have not yet received a reply (we were waiting for a response before commenting on this).

The aft suite configuration is not as shown on the website. As you enter on the right hand side there is a desk and chair; then a two-seater sofa facing a flat screen TV mounted on the wall; two armchairs and a small coffee table.

On the LH side, there is the usual fridge; then a door to the separate additional sink/countertop room. Further round the LH curve is the door to the main bathroom.

Following the RH side curve round there is two double wardrobes with hanging space, drawers & safe inside; then a dressing table/chair, flat TV on the wall opposite the bed.

I hope this makes a bit of sense!!

and finally, we have booked the same cabin on the Regal for next year.

By the way Carole, we loved your posting. You sound as if you thoroughly enjoy yourself and make the very best of everything and that is what holidays are for.

Regards - Anne

No. Marina and Riviera are 9' deep and uncovered, Baja and Dolphin are 9' deep and half covered and Aloha, Caribe and Emerald are 5' deep and uncovered. Marina deck balconies are fully exposed to the Horizon Terrace above so privacy may be an issue. Part of the Riviera deck balconies are also visible from the Horizon Terrace. There is space between the middle two cabins but no one has posted what occupies that space. On the balconies that space is split between the two middle balconies on Marina, Riviera, Aloha and Caribe decks and their balconies are wider. For some reason, there is a different arrangement on Baja deck. That space is not available on Dolphin and Emerald deck. Look at the photo for more details. You need to choose an aft Cat D4 deluxe balcony or Cat S2 suite very carefully as their balconies are not the same. Edited by IECalCruiser

We upgraded our cabins to the Riveria deck R735, R734, and R733. The 3 for Free and reduced pricing even saved us money over the previous Deluxe Balcony. If we can open the partitions will we have a very large balcony for six of us. I chose this level because I wanted cabins above and below and I wanted the 9 foot balconies and the two wider ones. Ideally it would have been nice to be partial covered, but it was our compromise.

Your collective input was helpful with the decision.

Does anyone know if all the balcony partitions can be opened across the aft section? Has anyone ever stayed in any of these cabins?

Thanks.

This is a photo of the door opened between the center two balconies on Marina deck (courtesy of lynn_and_rob). You should have quite the big party balcony :)
