Ordering a birthday cake

There is a small "store" onboard, I think it is now called Life Is Sweet. The desk would just send you there. They could take your order and will deliver it to your room or dining table at a specified date and time.

However, you could also do it before boarding 2 other ways.

1. Go to Carnival(dot)com and on the bottom under ALREADY BOOKED select THE FUN SHOPS choose FOOD AND DESERTS choose CAKES and I think they have a screen to choose time and place of delivery.

2. Call Carnival (this is what I did) and explain what you want (make sure you have your booking # and your cabin and dining time). They brought the cake to our table the night of our anniversary---although I will admit that I did check the arrangements when onboard.

Thanks. This would be for embarkation day and dinner. We leave on 6/29/13 so I think it's too late to call carnival. Hopefully that shop will be open.

the candy store is where you want to head when you first board on your cruise-- this used to be formalities. This is where you want to order your cake for the first nights dinner. It might be too late to order online for your cruise as it usually closes 3 days prior.

Ok. Thanks. You all bailed me out from being a dumb ass. She said she didn't want a cake, but I I know differently. So thx to you all this trap has been avoided. We have fttf so we get on early. I'll just go "check on something" and get it done. .

Call the Bon Voyage dept. You can order it today and tell them where/when you want it delivered.

Yes, call Bon Voyage and they will have it. My parents cruised in February for their Anniversary. I called the day they were boarding and ordered a cake and wine and it was delivered the next night. If you ordered today, you wouldn't have to worry. The rep. that I spoke with said they like a days notice.

I'd agree with those urging you to call the order in. The problem you'd have is the "candy store" usually is closed while the ship is docked----you might not have a chance to order it before dinner.

Candy store was opened on the GLory. Maybe its just opened for orders.

There is also a number you can call.

Does anyone know how this works for anytime dining? We're cruising for my father's birthday in December, and early dining was already full when we booked. My dad HATES eating late, so I know he'll be one of the first in line for dinner every night. I'd love to have a birthday cake delivered to the dining room on the day, but is that possible with anytime dining, or do I have to have it delivered to the cabin? Not the end of the world, but it's more fun to make a fuss in public.

When you order it online you tell them on what day of the cruise (day 1..) & where (cabin or dining room), when you check in for dinner the hostess will remind you that they will be delivering it during dinner. No worries.

Happy Sailing!!!

Once you get on the ship....Go to the Formalities/Candy store to order cake.....That way you can have a CUSTOMIZED message put on the cake. (and won't have to settle for the standard ..."Happy Birthday" message written on the cake.)

Thanks to all of you. We boarded in Jacksonville and the cabin was decorated. The cake was delicious. The rest of the cruise was outstanding. A more detailed report will follow later.

  • 5 weeks later...

I can't believe you have to "buy" a cake on Carnival if you want to celebrate an anniversary or birthday on board.

On Princess, you tell the head waiter you are celebrating a special occasion.

and they will bring out the appropriate cake and sing.

There's no charge for the personal celebration cake served.

you also pay a lot more to sail princess.

carnival used to do it all for free but too many people were celebrating something every night

As the old saying goes -

You get what you pay for ;)

I am okay with not paying extra $$$ so folks can celebrate their "birthday", "anniversary" "half birthday", "half Anniversary", "quarter birthday", "quarter anniversary", etc..because who would fib about their birthday?

Wondered if you can get a button, too?;)
