Back from Bermuda on Summit - July 7 sail

Great to read your review. I sailed with celebrity over 20 years ago on the horizon. This is my second cruise and we chose celebrity. I was seasick back then. Am I correct in interpreting that the ship had mild rolling?

Thanks

Hi:) welcome back to cruising:D I have sailed Summit many times

and have always had a smooth sail;)....I believe the stabliziers on

Summit are probably tighter than what was on Horizon. Also, she

is much heavier (tonnage wise) than Horizon.

But Bermuda is out in the Atlantic and so if the waters happen to be

very rough, then you might feel something on board.

The Caribbean is usually very smooth. When is your cruise?

Thanks for the review of the Summit. After reading a lot of negative reviews, it's good to hear from someone with a positive attitude. We sail on her in October and I can't wiat. It will be our first time on a mid-size ship, and I think this will be the perfect size for us.

We were on Deck 6 with connecting suites .... so our grandchildren could visit back and forth without going into the hallway. The CS are mid-ship .... a perfect location for getting anywhere on the ship. As said, suite guests may have breakfast in Blu and dinner is based on availability (ask your Butler if interested). We did not eat dinner in Blu because we had young children at our table for dinner and thought they would enjoy the action of the MDR (they did) and also wanted to be considerate of the quiet atmosphere in Blu.

Other perks: free laundry (you will like that); butler (nice, but who really cares); bathtub; afternoon treats delivered by your butler (grandchildren could not wait until he arrived ~giggle~); specialty dinner one evening (cost is normally $45 per person); VIP boarding (you will be directed to that area when you arrive); some coupons you might like to casino, bingo, etc.; there were other things ..... but mostly small items you may like. The perks are nice .... not sure they are worth the extra cost ..... but we like/need the extra room.

When you say 'free laundry' what do you mean specifically? We are going on Summit in March with three suites and would love to know about this perk.

Thanks!

Lois. Thanks for your reply. We leave this Sunday July 21th. I am so excited. WE are staying in the aqua 2 balcony room on the 9th floor. Our room is 9043.

Oh, have a great time.:D...you ought to stop by your roll call to

meet some other people who are on the same cruise:)

Suite guests get coupons in their room. One coupon is good for up to 30 pieces of laundry. There should be a coupon for each guest in your room - so that would be 60 pieces of laundry per suite. We've sailed 3 times on Celebrity and received those coupons each time. But do check before your cruise to verify ... things change. I see you are booked in a Royal Suite - how nice!
