Beach towel question

Do I need to bring beach towels from home to use on excursions?

You can get two towels per cabin key when you go on the islands or on the ship for that mater. You get them at the pool station and you can exchange them for clean ones any time you like.

But you cannot simply take the towels and then drop them off in the return bins. RCI requires that you use your SeaPass card to check them in and out. And be sure that for each towel checked out that you return them and have your SeaPass card scanned as there is a non-return towel fee of $25 that can be applied. But that being said there is no need to bring any from home.

I probably should do a search on towel policy, but is this something new? Do the cabin attendant's no longer leave beach towels in the stateroom? I used to exchange my dirty towels for clean ones out by the pool, but I don't remember ever having to swipe my Sea Pass. The rule was, always make sure there are two towels in the stateroom by the end of the cruise.

This is not a new policy, I'd say it's been in force for at least a couple of years now. The cabin attendants do not leave pool towels in the staterooms, except on some ships in full suites.

It was in effect when I cruised in 2010!

Awww.... Now I understand. I have read the towel stories and never could figure out the big deal here because I just used the beach towels in the cabin.

They do take your cabin number down when you check out towels. You can also go down to the pool early in the morning always lots of towels laying around on chairs to take to the beach!
