Rare Jamman54 Posted September 2, 2013 Author #179 Share Posted September 2, 2013 does Ryan have on a shower cap under that helment? to protect himself from OTHERS? good idea,,,Or from those sweated up helments from the user before! According to Patti. they were very thin shower caps / hairnets which the Segway people supplied. They were not required, but it was highly recommended that they be worn. Afterwards, they sprayed all the helmets with an antiseptic spray. Vin and I did the Segway tour in Grand Turk... We loved it! Patti & Ryan debated over which port to do the Segway at, but decided to do it at Nassau, so as not to lose any beach, pool, or flowrider time, since we were only in GT for 6 hours. Rare Jamman54 Posted September 2, 2013 Author #180 Share Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Hello again everybody!!! It’s time to finish up our day in Nassau. Thanks for your patience, as I never realized how time consuming this could be. Really makes me appreciate those people who have done this before me, and all those that will follow, but it is really worth the effort!!! Now, we have all completed our “tours”, and we have made it back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. I even brought back a souvenir of my “tour” at Senor Frog’s….. Ryan went to go hang out with his Club O2 friends, while Patti and I decided to have lunch at the Deli, before heading back to the cabin for our final sailaway. It was sad to think that our next stop would be back in New York, but we still had the rest of this day, and two more full days to enjoy. Here’s a picture of the Atlantis from our balcony….. Our two deck up neighbor. Hi Barb!! Hi Jeff!! Photo courtesy of Barb…… Looking down on Patti and Jeff as we set sail. Photo courtesy of Barb….. We’re on our way!!!! To be continued…. Rare Jamman54 Posted September 2, 2013 Author #183 Share Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) A few of our fellow roll call members also had aft cabins, and we were yelling back and forth to each other as we sailed out of Nassau. I decided to call an emergency informal roll call meeting, and invited them to our cabin for drinks and conversation as we continued to sailaway….. We hung out for quite a while, having a great time, until Nassau was way out of sight. Afterwards, it was time to take a short little nap before getting ready for dinner. I awoke in time to catch the best sunset of the cruise….. To be continued….. Edited September 2, 2013 by Jamman54
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 2, 2013 Author #184 Share Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Tonight, we were back in the Gold Pearl Restaurant for dinner, and the service and food was very good once again. Tonight I had the shrimp cocktail, spinach & ricotta crepes, blackened tilapia, topped off with 3 scoops of ice cream. Patti had the vegetarian lasagna for her entrée, and her usual butter pecan ice cream. I want you to meet the maitre’d of the Gold Pearl Restaurant, Constantine….. He’s a very nice guy, but he’s a Ken Byrne wannabe. He feels a need to sing a song almost every night, before the waiters put on their little show. He’s not that great a singer, but hey, he tries!! Tonight, the wait staff danced to Low, Low, Low (or whatever the title is)….. Ryan had spent the evening at Club O2, then went to the Spectacular Theater to play laser tag. They break you off into 4 person teams. The cost is $5.00 for five minutes…. Tonight in the casino was the 2nd blackjack tournament of the cruise. I wound up being the top qualifier for the final table…… But, for the second time on this cruise, once I got to the final table, lady luck would abandon me completely. I busted out after the fifth hand. My prize? You guessed it, another t-shirt that doesn’t fit me!!!! Afterwards, we walked around the ship for a while, checked emails, then decided to call it a night. We were actually up past midnight!! We walked into the cabin, and of course our towel animal awaited us. OMG, it’s Senor Frog!!!! Good Night!! Coming up next: Sea Day # 3, or are we really heading back to New York? Good point, Nassau was our least favorite port anyway, so maybe it would have been a good time. I liked that in gran turk thy were all-terrain though, not sure if they were in Nassau. Seeing the shower cap things make me wish they had those in grand turk. I rode Segways in Chicago once too and they didn't have those either. You missed out though! Segways are so much fun. The lobster is served in the MDR on the first elegant night, which is the evening of your first full sea day. Can't help you with the spa prices. We have all the fun times, but the shopping and spa specials came on separate flyers which we did not save.

alreadypacked Posted September 3, 2013 #189 Share Posted September 3, 2013 There are also four Breakfast Grill stations where you can get all those other breakfast items, including those infamous scrambled eggs that almost everybody hates. Stick to the Omelette Station. They will fry or scramble REAL eggs for you, in addition to the omelettes… There is a Continental Breakfast Station… Of course, many beverage stations, including the one upstairs by the Rotisserie on Deck 10… Patti and I enjoying our first breakfast at sea. (On this cruise)… To be continued… Really wonderful review!! I see you started this review in the last couple weeks but I haven't been on cruise critic a whole lot recently, so I seemed to have missed it. Glad I found it now! Really enjoying your photos and personality. I'm originally from NJ but have never sailed out of the Northeast. I think that is something DH and I must do at least once! Nothing beats the NY skyline! phunmum Posted September 3, 2013 #196 Share Posted September 3, 2013 Ryan and Mom…… Ryan’s looking for some more fish….. The Splendor and tender full of passengers heading back to the ship…. Now I’m going to give you the best piece of advice one could give you in regards to tendering back to the ship and avoiding long lines. If you are hell bent in getting back to the ship early than you must board a tender no later than two hours before the last scheduled tender. After that the lines will form, growing longer and longer as time goes on. We always stay to the end and have NEVER waited in line for a tender. About a half hour before the last scheduled tender, we plop ourselves down at the Rumrunner Bar which is the closest to the tenders, (remember at the beginning of the day when I told you this bar would come into play?), and we sit and relax with a few drinks while we watch those poor, now extremely grumpy people, trudge along in line waiting to board a tender. We wait and take the very last tender back to the ship with the crew. The bar stays open to the very last moment, so when the crew leaves the bar, we just follow them onto the last tender, usually with one last drink in our hands!! Can’t be any easier!! So, in review, do you want to wait in a line like this? Or do you want to wait for a tender like I do? Class dismissed!! Our tender awaits!!! To be continued…. Thanks for the heads up on waiting for the tender! Look who's behind the guy in blue under the shade and enjoying a frozen piña colada...yup that would be us lol!!! Feelin' Nauti' Posted September 3, 2013 #198 Share Posted September 3, 2013 Splendido Lido Pool DJ… …. Feelin' Nauti' Posted September 3, 2013 #199 Share Posted September 3, 2013 Here’s a little info to help you procure your lunch in a timely fashion. If you crave the Mongolian Wok, start lining up ten minutes before it opens at Noon, otherwise you will wait. Good advice.... On our Miracle cruise last year... The line was a mile long  Never tried it, wasn't worth the wait.;)
