Head covering for churches?

Are there any churches where females have to cover their head? I know that shoulders and knees must be covered...

We walked into a few churches/cathedrals and women did not have to cover their heads. No shorts are allowed though and maybe your arms should be covered. I wore capri pants and elbow length sleeves and I did have a hat on. Most people did not have hats.

The Catholic Church has done away with that years ago. Don't know about any other faiths.

 

Thank goodness. I remember many a time walking into church with a Kleenex bobby pinned to my head because I forgot my hat or scarf!

No head coverings are required in churches. As you noted, it is good to make sure shoulders and knees are covered.

Head covering went out around the time of Vatican II (in the 60's), so no worry there.

You do need a head covering to go into a Mosque. When we travel in Muslim countries DW always keeps a silk scarf in her purse in case we decide to drop into a Mosque.

Hank is right about mosques. You may also encounter an Orthodox church also where old customs die hard...
