nAuntie Posted September 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2013 We are flying in to Miami for our cruise out of Fort Lauderdale on the Allure (Nov 17)... is there transportation at the Miami airport (cab, shuttle etc?) that will get us to Fort Lauderdale? PORT ROYAL Posted September 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2013 We have used them several times and loved the service... Agree - Also book in advance - The driver will be just outside immigration - FYI the Q for a Taxi can take up to 1 hour under the airport with all the fumes etc.. Big_G Posted September 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2013 We have used them several times and loved the service... I believe SAS is restricted to only trips that originate from Ft. Lauderdale. They are not permitted to pickup at MIA unless things have changed. They can transport you from FLL to Miami hotels and cruise port but that's about it. Rare FionaMG Posted September 18, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2013 There are several options. You will find lots of recommendations on the Florida section of the East Coast Departures Board, including several limo companies. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495 We have used Holland Limo and were satisfied with the service. I believe it works out slightly more expensive than a cab but you don't have to stand in line and you don't have to worry about the meter running if there's a lot of traffic. http://hollandlimousine.com/ Another option is the shuttle. Check the MIA airport website for the link (I think it's super shuttle). That would work out cheaper if there are only two of you but you will almost certainly have to wait until they have a certain number of people on board before they set off. http://www.miami-airport.com/hotel_shuttles.asp And yet another option, if you don't have any mobility problems would be the tri-rail. A poster on the EC Departures boards suggested this recently and we're seriously considering using that option on our next trip. Costwise it's a LOT cheaper but has the downside of dragging your bags around a bit. http://www.tri-rail.com/ Hope this helps. Have a great cruise. Fiona.
