What time does the Radiance start the departure procedure? We are Pinnacle so have priority departure and can leave with the very first group to depart. Will we be able to make our 11:15 a.m. flight? We are not carrying off our luggage but will pick it up in the terminal.

 

How long a drive to the airport from the port? We arrive on a Saturday.

If your flight is domestic you should be OK, even though there are usually long queues at Sydney airport for check-in, then again for security. If your flight is international I think you will have problems as check-in has to be much earlier (usually two hours). If you are flying international, check your documentation to see how far ahead of the flight time this has to be.

 

The time of disembarkation depends on whether the ship arrives on time. There is always a delay after arrival before the first people can get off the ship. I haven't cruised with Royal Caribbean, but with P&O and Princess, the first people wouldn't usually get off the ship until around 8.30am. Usually there are no long delays in the cruise terminal with customs etc.

 

I suggest you get a taxi rather than waiting for a bus to fill up. On a Saturday you should get to the airport in less than 45 minutes. The cost would be a bit over $50.

The Radiance arrives at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at 6.00am. After luggage is removed, about an hour or so later disembarking starts, have seen it start from 7.00 to 7.15 That is providing all goes to plan - arrival on time, no ambulance patients to transfer, no custom problems etc. There is usually no delays getting luggage and passing through customs. At the earliest time on a Saturday there should be plenty of taxis waiting and hopefully not too long a queue waiting. The trip to the airport should be reasonable then as well. Hopefully arrival at airport being 8.30 to 9.00am.

If you are able to take your luggage off yourself you can be off as soon as the ship is cleared 7 ---7:30 ish which will give you a bit more wriggle room. also eliminates the "slight" chance of a bag going astray or being delayed in unloading.

That would be the way I would do it and Concierge will also assist with this where he can.
