allegrissimo package question w/friends?

So if I go with a group of 50 people, everyone will need to buy the same drink package to sit together ?

 

Or, as I am sharing a room with my sister, she wants the drink package but I do not drink, I will still need to buy the package or she can't purchase ???

 

May have to find another cruise........

Yes, you will have to purchase the package if you are sharing a room with your sister. That is pretty standard on all cruise lines for any guests purchasing an All-Inclusive alcohol package . . . everybody in the room must purchase the package.

 

The first part I'm sure there is some flexibility with that. If say a Family Reunion books 50 people, I'd hope they don't force all 50 people to purchase a package and just only make the people sharing a room with people wanting the All-Inclusive package having to get it, but who knows.

 

Great thing is they do have those 15 vouchers for $72.

When I called this week, we have 5 cabins booked with a total of 14 people. We have our reservations linked because we want to be seated together for dinner. Only 1 cabin wanted to order the all-inclusive package, however MSC stated they couldn't unless all cabins purchased. So now I have one couple upset that they can't purchase because the rest of us don't see it as a good deal, or it isn't a good deal for us.

That really sucks. I would definitely tell that couple about the "voucher" system and maybe they could purchase 4 booklets (60 drinks) for $288 and it will be less than half of what they would spend for the all inclusive package.

 

Just throwing out an idea for them.

I told them about it, the vouchers really seem like a much better idea to me. Though my sister was being fussy about the vouchers for sodas. I really think even doing 3 drink packages would be plenty and even if she added on 2 soda package vouchers she would still come out cheaper.

 

I was going to do 2 of the 15 drink vouchers for myself, while my parents would probably only do 1 and splint it between them. I will also do the doremi package for my daughter along with soda vouchers. Though an unlimited soda card for kids would be a lot easier to deal with than a kid having to keep track of vouchers.

I'm on Preziosa in May - the cruise is part of a trip which includes a 3 night stay in Lake Garda region pre-cruise and a 2 night stay in Venice post-cruise. I cannot pre-book the Allegrissimo package as it's a tour company which is organising the trip and I'm regarded as being part of a group by MSC. However, I've been told I can purchase it onboard which seems ridiculous to me as the same argument is not being applied once on the ship!!!! This will incur the 15% service charge. I've also had to prepay the hotel charge which means it won't qualify towards onboard spend for clubcard points.

I have pre-booked the Alegrissimo Classic for our cruise - however I am having 2nd thoughts and would appreciate input. Since we have four ports - two of which we will be at all-inclusive resorts with day passes- I am wondering if we would be better off booking the vouchers & wine package....always looking for the most bang for my $$ - perhaps we would come out substantially better with 2 of the 15 voucher packages each and a wine package for dinner.( 4x$72=$288 +$155 = $443 vs $608) all the more to play with in the casino.....that's 30 vouchers each and a nice bottle of wine each night.....

 

Is there a wine list somewhere that shows which wines are included in the $155/7 bottle package vs the $85/7 ....and does that mean I have to take 2 reds, 2 whites, and a rose with the cheaper option....I don't want them saying - no yo have to order a rose. We've never booked an alcohol package but normally buy a wine package on board - to enjoy a bottle with dinner each night.....also - if you have "vouchers" - then you have little papers you have to carry around?

Warning to all MSC Cruisers! The requirement for all travelers in the same party to book the same drink packages appears to be true, even for medical reasons. Customer service with this company is non-existent.

 

After booking an MSC Cruise, I inquired about the price of the Allegrissimo Premium Package, and also asked about the cost of the Child version of the same package. When this question was posed to the customer service representative, I was informed that they could not provide the price since a child was not staying in our cabin. I explained to the representative that I will be pregnant at the time of the cruise, and did not feel that it should be a requirement to pay for an alcoholic package given my current condition. I joked with the representative that a child was, in fact, staying with us, but I believe my humor was lost on the other end of the call. I was informed that no exceptions to the policy would be made. I suggested that I complete the Special Requirements Form to document my health condition (and provide a supportive physician’s note), and was once again informed that this would not result in an exceptions being made. At this time I requested to speak with a supervisor, and was told that all supervisors were in a meeting. I was told that I would receive a return call.

After making this call, I discovered that there was another beverage package that I was interested in pricing. I called the Customer Service center again, waited an additional 30 minutes on hold, and eventually asked for the pricing of the Allegrissimo Classic Package. I briefly explained my request for the pricing package, and was not surprised when I was once again informed about the MSC policy against exceptions. I asked the representative to check my file to confirm that there was a note for a supervisor call back, and she indicated there was no note present. Once again, I asked for a note to be added.

 

One week has passed since making the calls on April 1st, and I have yet to receive a return phone call from a Supervisor to discuss these concerns.

Welcome to MSC. We formerly loved MSC, but this company is experiencing growing pains. "Customer Service" is truly an oxymoron. This is a shipping company. Welcome to the cattle call. And, hopefully we will enjoy our nicely wrapped cold hamburgers and hot dogs (Miami sailing, MSC Divina).

Unfortunately the MSC customer service is a little wanting so far!

Vouchers,,,

15 drinks for $72. including gratuity(about $4.80 a drink)

14 Bottle Beers for $52. including gratuity(about $3.71 a beer)

You pick the vouchers up in the casino bar when entering the ship is what has been told here in the forum!

You won't find another cruise line that does the all you can drink package differently, as you want! e

Everyone in a cabin must all purchase it, or its not available, and that's how all the cruise lines are currently running it!

We just got off the Ruby (5-day cruise) also and can tell you that many people on embarkation day were buying the package at Outriggers (not us) and were not required to have both in the cabin buy the package
