Danacat222 Posted October 27, 2013 Author #76 Share Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) On the trolley ride back, we saw a few places we wanted to try and find, we started here... Martin just had to try the coconut water... To me it might as well had come from here... Thanks but no thanks! We hit up a little place and bought an empaneda, wanted to try some pastries but it was too hot we had lost our appetites and motivation, so we headed back to the ship. Danacat222 Posted October 27, 2013 Author #77 Share Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) We did go in Señor Frog's but there were tons of people and it was very loud. It was only 11:30am! When going into the ship terminal there are a few beverage vendors giving out free samples, yes! We had a few rum shots and even a decent size frozen adult beverage! YUM! Once we dropped off our stuff at the cabin we headed to the aft pool, Martin was suddenly hungry so he had a Guy's Burger, i asked for fries only thinking i would be given the same amount they give you with the burger, but no, they gave me a big pile of fries. They are so good! Many people had the same idea, the ship was hoppin! Edited October 27, 2013 by Danacat222
Sparky2 Posted October 27, 2013 #78 Share Posted October 27, 2013 Really enjoying your review. We're doing a B2B next January and this itinerary is the 1st leg. Since we've been to all the ports on both cruises except for Half Moon Cay, we'll just be getting off of the ship and wandering around the port. We do plan on doing the trolley in Old San Juan and going to the forts. It will be a very cheap excursion as we have the lifetime Golden Age Passport which gets us into all National Parks. I know, we won't save much before the forts are inexpensive, but, hey, it's buy me one Chocolate Mocha Get-a-way on the ship. Because Lido is so busy in the morning, we eat all of our breakfasts in the MDR. Much more relaxing. We usually request a table for 2.

Danacat222 Posted October 27, 2013 Author #80 Share Posted October 27, 2013 Shortly after we started to sail there were some thunder booms and they close the aft pool ceiling so we left, it never did rain that we saw or felt, we just went up and found a place on deck 10. See the moon? We went to the cabin to relax a bit then head to dinner...
Danacat222 Posted October 27, 2013 Author #81 Share Posted October 27, 2013 For dinner assignment we had Your Time Dining, the entire Golden Olympian is for YTD so we went expecting to have to wait for a table for 2 but we were seated right away. It was about 6:15, good timing! Yes, we were seated right away...right next to another couple at a table for two, who were seated next to another couple at a table for two, then another couple came and sat to our right, table for two, our roll caller couple Yolanda and Robert. We enjoyed the conversation very much! If you are looking for an intimate "table for 2" you are SOL. Here is Martin showing his camera to the nice man seated 6 inched from him. This was not really our idea of a table for two, but it was fine. We had a great waiter named Gideon, he was very pleasant and efficient. The bread was delivered warm, bar service was quick. For dinner I had the fruit, flat iron steak cooked medium, baked potato, Martin tried the Didja shark and langoustino fire cracker roll and he had the flat iron steak cooked well done. For dessert I had my favorite, Bitter and Blanc, Martin had the sherbert, a scoop of each flavor. All around the dinner was very good. After dinner we went to the casino for a while, because of the smoke and my asthma i can only take it for a short while. I played a little bit of Black Jack and then a few pulls at my favorite Wheel of Fortune slot machine, i knew immediately that it was a waste, i quit while i was ahead. Not time to turn in yet, there was a big deck party coming up!

Danacat222 Posted November 3, 2013 Author #86 Share Posted November 3, 2013 We visited Grand Turk when we sailed on Pride in 2011, we had snorkeled back then and this time just planned for a few relaxing hours at the beach and nothing more. We were pulling up to Grand Turk just after 10am, earlier than planned. Soon after docking the ship was cleared for disembarkation, but they had announced another ship was arriving shortly so if you had an early excursion to go on and try to get off the ship as to not cause any issues with catching tours as they would have to close the gangway while that ship docked. Danacat222 Posted November 3, 2013 Author #87 Share Posted November 3, 2013 You can just barely see her but Victory was on its way... We did not leave the ship until 10:45, it was pretty crowded with 2 ships unloading passengers at the same time.
Danacat222 Posted November 3, 2013 Author #88 Share Posted November 3, 2013 While in the water searching for fish, we saw a few sea urchins and some other small colorful fish, but i suddenly had a terrible headache and as the day progressed I began to feel like i was coming down with something, a sore throat and just not feeling great. I think we only stayed at the beach until about 2pm, i did a bit of shopping and then headed back to the ship while Martin wanted to go take a look at Margarittaville so he did that, he said it was too crowded. No pics of that. Once I was back on board I headed for my favorite place at the aft pool! I was able to pull a lounger into the shade, cool off in the pool and finally the headache went away but the sore throat stuck around and still I have an upper respiratory infection that I am having a really hard time getting rid of! Danacat222 Posted November 3, 2013 Author #91 Share Posted November 3, 2013 We skipped dinner, i think we had a snack from the buffet, then we just walked around and listed to music and relaxed. That is Andy Ferguson performing live at the Red Frog Rum Bar, he was wonderful!

Mrs.C05 Posted November 6, 2013 #96 Share Posted November 6, 2013 We are going on the legend in March and wondered if Guys Burger is free fleet wide. (I wouldn't see why not, if it's free on Liberty). Very excited to try it out, along with the Red Frog rum Bar! Sent from my SPH-D710 using Forums mobile app It is part of the 2.0 upgrades and is currently only on the Breeze, Sunshine, Conquest, Glory, Liberty and Triumph. The Legend is going into dry dock for some of the 2.0 upgrades in February, but everything I have read seems to point towards it getting Australian friendly upgrades since it is moving there in August 2014. So it probably won't get Guy's or Blue Iguana. Not sure about Red Frog.

That still is my favorite cruise, even with no Guys and none of the 2.0 extras. But yes, Guys is free fleet wide. When Legend goes into dry dock, i believe it will get a RedFrog Pub and new shows. I can't remember but i think I read that on John Heald's facebook or blog.
Danacat222 Posted November 8, 2013 Author #100 Share Posted November 8, 2013 Winding down after 4 great ports, it's the last full day. I actually slept in a bit, we missed brunch, i had really wanted to do that again but completely forgot! We had breakfast on lido and then i parked myself at my favorite place, the aft pool! We really did have some awesome weather! Martin studied, drank some beers...this bar waiter was so nice, always smiling!!! I had a few Miami Vices... I was still having a touch of a sore throat and felt like i might need a short nap so we chilled in the cabin for a little while before it was time to start packing. At about 6pm or so we went out for a stroll, taking pics and just enjoying the ship and weather and blue sky...
