Can I bring gifts for local children?

GC is one of the richest countries in the Caribbean.....You would likely benefit from the residents giving YOU stuff! They are fine....they are NOT needy at all! Wait until you see the prices they charge for everything there! After all, it is the BANKING capital of the Caribbean!

While I appreciate that Cayman is far better off than many Caribbean islands, there are those in need. Gratefully there is a spirit of generosity within Cayman and we do a pretty good job of helping those among us who are less fortunate.

 

There are many worthy organizations that do good charitable work. One that has several programs that benefit youth is the National Council of Voluntary Organizations (NCVO) which operates a group foster home and daycare center among various other projects.

If another port is Cozumel, we were able to bring very needed (but to us very basic) supplies for the Red Cross when we were in Cozumel. I will see if I can find info about their needs and if this is still possible.
