LollyMoz Posted November 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2013 According to the radio chatter I heard, the Emerald was to depart at 1600/4:00 p.m. Wonder why the delay...

rkacruiser Posted November 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 9, 2013 One needs to remember that both Emerald Princess and Crown Princess have just returned from Europe. More time for heavy loading is no doubt needed. Plus, there could have been a USPH and/or USCG inspection today as well, and that would slow down the loading process. Vexorg Posted November 10, 2013 #13 Share Posted November 10, 2013 Emerald Princess was also docked at pier 22 today, which is a somewhat unusual location for Princess ships to dock (usually it's Holland America and Carnival ships docked there,) which might have contributed to the delay. Usually if there's more than one Princess ship in port the larger one docks at pier 2, while the smaller one (typically Coral/Island) is at 19. I'm not sure if 19 is big enough for a Grand Class ship if there's two in port though.
BEACHBARB Posted November 10, 2013 #14 Share Posted November 10, 2013 My sister and BIL are on the Crown. She texted when they arrived at terminal around 11 AM that she had never seen a line so long. 3-1/2 hours standing in line. Finally sailed around 6. A lot of unhappy passengers. Customs and Immigraton was rumored to be the problem along with a late docking. One passenger told them Crown was supposed to be in Friday night (sounds weird). Customs didn't get to ship till 9:30 so ship was not cleared until late. This is all rumor so far.
westwind6371 Posted November 10, 2013 #15 Share Posted November 10, 2013 Hi Dan Tanna; Could you confirm that the Silver and Gold wine packages are offered on Emerald for this trip? Also if you know, any issues with wine being brought on board this trip? Sailing Emerald in Dec. and Jan, Thanks Dave
