I had a question about this. I have the premium package for my wife and I for our Dec 9th sailing. Can I cancel the package for my wife and just keep it for me or does she still need a package?

I'd cancel both and then purchase on board. You should then be able to get one of the new packages.

Soooo does this :* Call and premium cocktails (up to $10 value)* mean that RC will raise the price for some drinks so they don't fall under this stipulation? I wonder, I wonder, but hope not.

That wouldn't actually remove it from the package, it would just cause you to pay a small amount for it. For things over $10 you pay the difference.

So if they raised a $9.50 drink to $10.50 then you'd pay $0.50 for it instead of getting it for free. (Well, free other than the cost of the package of course)

Ahhh, well that's not so bad. I can handle that.

If I get the soda package then once on board realize I want one of the alcohol packages. Will give me credit for what I paid for the soda package or will just additionally charge me for the alcohol package?

All you can do is ask. I've read some accounts of people being able to do this, but it is probably dependent on the management.

Looking at a menu from the allure that someone posted a majority of drinks currently run from $5.00 to $9.50. Hopefully drink prices dont go up with this change.

Is this for certain? I can't find where that is specifically stated. So a $16 glass of wine would only cost $4 as well if you have a premium drink package? I'm sure there will be exclusions. For instance, on the beer menu somebody posted, there were about 8 beers that had a * by them indicating that they are "excluded from all packages". It wasn't always price-dependent either.

Thanks for posting this!

The slightly higher limits for wine and cocktail prices out of the EU (and South America/Australia) could make the difference for my husband :)

"Q Are cocktails included in the beverage package program, if so up to what value?

A. Cocktails are included in the package program for the Premium and Unlimited Beverage Package. This

is all cocktails up to a value of $10*. Non-alcoholic cocktails are

included within both packages and also the Select package. * Please note, on sailings departing from ports in Europe, South America and Australia, the limit is increased to $12. "

I'm so glad they included water in the $55 pkg. I wasn't looking forward to lugging 2 cases on board!

I'm with you on that. I usually spend about $200 on their VERY inflated water prices (yes, I'm a water-aholic).:D

Does anyone know the deal with champagne? I have been looking for an answer on if champagne is included in any package and if so, what kind, but can't seem to find anything. Anyone know??

Champagne falls under the category of wine. If you get the Select package, then glasses up to $8 are included. If you get the Premium package, then glasses up to $12 are included.

Not sure but I was surprised while on my last cruise I was waiting at the customer service counter a man asked after he purchased the wine package with I believe he said 7 bottles. He was asking that since he only drank 5 bottles could he cancel the package and just pay for the 5 he drank. This was on the 5th day of a 7 day cruise and the man at the counter said it was fine.

The other major change to the unlimited alcohol packages is now any eligible guest in a stateroom may purchase a package. This is a change from the previous policy where all eligible guests in a stateroom had to purchase a package.

The new unnlimited beverage packages will be available for guests purchase starting today, November 15th on all ships, and pre-purchase online the first week of December at http://www.royalcaribbean.com/beforeyouboard/cruiseEnhancements.do or by calling our pre-cruise planning specialists at 1-800-398-9819. Once available online, you can purchase them approximately 2 months before sail date.

All package prices include the 15% gratuity. Also the the basic soda package and water package stay intact.

Guests who have already bought a ‘Classic’ package prior to the changes in November/December 2013, will receive the new Select package once on board and a refund to their onboard account for the $5 per day difference in pricing.

Guests who have already bought a ‘Premium’ package prior to the changes in November/December 2013, will receive the new Premium package once on board. If they wish to upgrade to the new Ultimate package, this can be done at a cost added to their onboard account of the $10 per day difference in pricing.

I don't know where you got this information from, but as of today 11/23/13 RCI's website states different from what you have posted.

http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/royal/en_US/pdf/beverage_package_flyer_faq.pdf

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/subject.do?snav=2&faqSubjectName=Food+%26+Beverage&faqSubjectId=336&pnav=5

It sounds to good to be true, hopefully it only because they haven't had a chance to update their website.

I honestly don't know. It seems that there is a lot of information floating around regarding the packages.

Some people are saying the all premium package allows access to the freestyle machines, but RCI says "no".

I'd just call guest relations and find out from them.
