Just returned from an absolutely wonderful vacation! I, like many others were hesitant when booking due to numerous negative reviews. Please please please don't listen to these reviews! For all of you future Breakaway cruisers, this ship is amazing!! We loved it! We had a balcony. It is small, but served the purpose of being able to sit out there and read, or just check out the view. Service was top notch. We didn't have any issues. Food was yummy!!we tend to steer away from the buffets, but even that was tasty when we did.

Thanks to cruise critic, I tried some things based on your recommendations.... The lobster tail from Carlos bakery was delish! The pot pie from Osheehans was pretty good.dont think I'd get it again tho. Please don't slam me on my next opinion... We did not like Fire and Ice at all! We tried it twice. To us, she seemed wayyyy too dramatic and jumping around all the place only seemed to hide like an attempt to hide the fact that she really doesn't have a strong singing voice. Did a dis service to michael jackson, and whitney. We avoided them!! The blues band in fats cats, however, was great entertainment. Good band, good times! Ropes course was soooooo much fun! Ice bar was a must do. Once is enough tho. Drinks aren't very good in there unless you like yours super sweet and weak. Taste and savor we're absolutely delicious. We dined there almost every morning. Manhattan room was out of ths world. Cagnys was superb! I had an hsn free meal and bottle of wine, which I was under the impression could only be used in ocean blue, but I brought the confirmation letter to cagnys and she said I could use it there. Soooo good.

The water slides were fun! Yes, it's true about the pool area being too small, but it's also true that there are plenty of seats above that deck! We never had an issue. In my opinion, there is no need for vibe passes. Spice h2o serves the same purpose and for free! We liked it there a lot!!

Latitudes party was fun. They served all kinds of drinks for free and passed around some apps. probably a tad too windy out there that night, but we weren't complaining with our free champagne!

We missed great stirrup cay, but the good part was that the captain knew ahead of time we weren't going, so we didn't have to waste time trying o tender. We had another day in Nassau, so we got to shop one day, the do Atlantis the next, which by the way was awesommmmmeeee!!

We aren't gamblers, but yes, the casino smelled of stale smoke from day one. Yuck. No buggy, you got used to it.

Howl at the moon is a lot of fun, and is quality entertainment! Hmmmm, what else, I'm all over the place. Ha

Oh, embarking was a breeze. We arrived in port at 11:45. We were on in 20

minutes. Did the walk off debarked. We were off by 7:20am.

Here's a little something that happened to us, just to share in case this happens to someone else.... When we got to port and the girl checked us in, she asked for our method of payment for onboard. We gave her our debit card. She said oh no, you don't want to do that. They will put $300 hold on your card. Just give me a credit card now, and then on the last day befit you come back, go to guest services and change your method of payment to the debit. We told her the credit card we brought didn't have much on it, because we have all our spending money in the debit. She said that's ok, they won't charge it. Well long story short, on Friday( the second to last day) our sea pass won't work anywhere. We go toughest services and she tells us it's because our credit card doesn't have enough on it to cover the purchases we've made so far. So they cut us off. We couldn't believe it. We explained how we were misinformed. The girl really didn't care, nor did the supervisor on. They just wanted a proper method to pay.. Which we fully intended on giving... On Saturday as instructed! We thought it was odd that they checked the card before Saturday. Anyway, it was a little snafu. Nothing that ruined our vacation by any means. Communication was a bit lacking on their part! Oh, and the ship never seemed overcrowded! That was a plus!!

So anyway, we loved our vacation. Loved the breakaway. We did a future cruise credit. Time to start planning again!

7 das is not enough time to cruise! I wished we could've stayed. Any questions, I'll try to answer if I can.

I was on the 11/3 sailing and agree- loved the ship, food and service. Did you have good weather all week? We missed GSC also but had 2 gorgeous days both Wednesday & Thursday.

I didn't think much of fire and ice either, but just found other things to watch. I truly cannot figure out why the first people who posted reviews and through the summer had issues, besides the people. I get that on a full ship of children, but the rest of the adventure was amazing.

We had very nice weather. It was 67-70 I'd say on the first full sea day down and the last day back to ny. I've sailed quite a few times from the northeast. This was the smoothest trip out of them all. It was warm in the Bahamas but verrrrrrrryyyyyy windy, not enough to keep us from the water at Atlantis.

I dressed for summer weather, and brought a long sleeve shirt. I wore shorts and flip flops even on the last day. I'm not sure what December weather holds tho...

It depends on what part of the country you are from. Most people who take this cruise seem to be from the NE. I'm from the South and froze my you know what off half of the days - and could no way tolerate the water in Nassau!

This is a cruise for those who like spending time on the ship - not necessarily in port. It is a beautiful ship with great service. However, if you like seeing the sights, you need another itinerary.

We had problems with NCL connecting our credit card too! We pre-paid our tips and at checkin I gave them a valid credit card with plenty of money available to charge. On Sunday and Monday we made small purchases in the gift shop and I had $500 of OBC. On Tuesday, our sea pass is denied charges. I'm so mad because I had to leave 2 bottles of liquor at the counter and stand in line for an hour at guest services. When I approached the desk, they said I didn't set up a credit card. I handed them the same credit card I handed over in port at check-in and everything from that point on was ok. It just burned me that I wasted time providing them with the same information they already had

All in all great cruise, although would have liked to have had special muster for wheelchair passengers. By the time we got my dad down to our muster station, it was over and it was hell and very frustrating trying to get back to the elevators to get back to our cabin. Our muster was in The Manhattan Room and it was VERY VERY CROWDED.

About Fire and Ice.....are they the same guy and woman duo that used to be on the Dawn? Those two performed like Ike and Tina Turner and she had a fabulous voice. This duo used to perform in the "walk through" lounge in the center of the ship on deck 6, I believe. The crowds used to build up and there was standing room only for this act.
