Port hotels in Miami

Recommended Posts

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and they had a shuttle (which was included in the Cruise package we got- room, breakfast, shuttle). There is a charge for the shuttle if you don't have the package but I'm not sure what it is pp.

We liked this hotel very much. It was clean and bright and close to Bayside Marketplace.

Cheers,

We stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay and did the pre cruise package. It included 2 cocktails in the hotel bar, breakfast the next morning, shuttle to the port in the morning, as well as a room with a view of the ships. When we cruise out of Miami again we will definetly stay here.

We stayed at the Embassey suites. There were 5 of us (husband and 3 daughters) so we were able to stay in a two room suite and have plenty of room rather than crowding into one regular room or get 2 hotel rooms.

they have a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and also from the hotel to the port. You do have to let them know if you will be using the shuttle to the port so they know how many vehicles to arrange.

A bonus...a nice hot breakfast complimentary ...and the omlets are great!

I think their internet rates are sometimes cheaper. I'd call the hotel and compare.

I've also heard people who had success using priceline.

we stayed at the doubletree on miami beach and it was great! Nice to spend a few hours on the beach, enjoy the nightlife, and nice restaraunts...was far better than my last stay at the Hyatt downtown. The cab ride was affordable, less than $20. My recommendation is the not put alot of weight in the shuttle service, instead, get the most location for your money. Miami beach is just across the bay from the port, a short ride on the causeway.

Try the website below for the Holiday Inn hotel that is the closest to the piers.

Many CC's have stayed there before their cruises, myself included, and wrote good things about it. I will be staying there again next year. It is directly across from the Bayside Marketplace which has lots to see and do. There are many restaurants there also.

digital curator - Was there someplace to eat dinner close to or in the Courtyard Marriott? I was thinking of booking there, but not sure I could get anything to eat except breakfast. I've been bidding on Priceline for a month and have gone up to $62 and can't get anything 3 stars either downtown or at the airport. I'm going to book something soon than is cancellable and keep bidding!

Our last stay in Miami was at the Intercontinetal Miami - Bayfront. Really nice property, web site rates run around $200, heard the priceline rate is around $80.

Here are some (bad) pics of the room:

There is no better view of the port/city than from the bayside rooms at the Interconti!

There are a few- there is the stuff at Bayside Marketplace which is a $5-7 cab ride away (take a cab at night). If you stay at the Holiday Inn, you will be across the street from the mall:

We ate at Porcao, which was also a $7 cab ride:

But go hungry! And not for vegetarians:D

We also took a cab the night after our cruise to Versailles, a cuban place that we loved (but it was really far out- $12-15 cab)

Also- do a search in the hotels pre and post cruise board- many native Miamians have posted a suggestion of restaurants close to downtown.

Don't forget- the Courtyard is 2.5* on Priceline!

We stayed at the Days Inn by the port... they have free shuttle from the airport and free shuttle to the port on day of sail.

this is not for the squeemish... it is not the best of places... but not the total worst. However, we arrived late in the evening in Miami and just needed somewhere to stay for a few hours overnight. Another nice thing... they did drive us to a local grocery store to pick up some things free of charge ( well, ok for the price of a tip).

If you are looking for a "sleep cheap" this one gets you airport shuttle and port shuttle.. with just the price of a tip.

( we have also stayed at the days inn by the airport... they to have the airport shuttle and port shuttle free of charge)... again just a "sleep cheap" and not for the squeemish.

thanks for the website, we are staying there prior to our granddaughters wedding on the Zenith in December. It was nice to see pictures of the hotel. For what we are paying it sure seems worth it.
