What is the secret door?

Secret doors are just doors that lead to the outside of the ship usually in the front. I have never been on Inspiration but in looking at the deck plan it looks as if there may be one on the Verandah deck and maybe Atlantic. Just go all of the way forward and it will look like and exit door or crew door.

Nothing secret about them. They are 1 of 2 scenarios.

1. They are marked "Do Not Enter"

Or

2. They are marked as "Crew Only"

However, those few individuals who still go out there by using these doors notice that they are the only cruisers out there so they think they have found a "Secret Door".

You can also look for doors that say "Danger - High Winds" - that's how some of the doors to these decks were labeled on the Glory. Sometimes they are locked, but if not, they do lead to good vantage points.

Also, watch out for that one door that quickly closes behind as you realize you are walking the plank!! :D

Some people don't like the term "secret door". Some people don't see it as a secret (even though many people on board the ship will never know about it). Some people don't like the term "door", because there's nothing appealing about the door. No disrespect to anyone who actually is fascinated by the door, but it's what is beyond the door that is appealing. It's a forward facing deck that overlooks the front of the ship. Every Carnival ship has at least one of these that is open for all guests, although the Spirit class ships don't have a door to lead to it. Many of these decks don't need to be accessed through a door. Some ships may have one that is designated for crew only, but even those ships will have one on another deck that is open for all guests. Not all of them are crew only. I'm not sure where that notion came from. It is possible that the doors to the secret deck could be locked if the winds are dangerously strong. It is often windy out there anyway.

Some ships will have only one that is open for guests. Some ships have as many as 6. Inspiration has only one, and it is up on Verandah deck. You can access it from inside or outside. From the main pool, you can go off to either side, and walk to the front of the ship, then head up the stairs before you reach the bridge, and you're there. Or you can go inside, go upstairs, pass the hallway for the Verandah staterooms, and go out the door. Once again, it is not for crew only. It's open for all guests, unless they close it due to high winds.

On the Valor and Destiny they had Do Not Enter signs

on the doors heading to the front weather decks last couple of cruises.

Probably due to current weather/wind conditions at the moment.

It can be very windy out there!

They lead to forward observation decks. Very few people use them. There will usually be at least a wooden bench there. I believe it was the Victory that had lounge chairs there; but of Victory, Fascination, and Sunshine, the Victory was the only one that had the loungers. On Fascination, it was identified on the ship maps as forward observation deck (and thus more people out there).

There may be signs on the doors saying due to wind, not to enter and enjoy the inside of the ship. I would still go through them anyway. On Fascination, there were these signs on the doors inside the ship, but you could still access the observation deck from the outer decks, so the signs on the inside were irrelevant.

If the door says "do not enter" or "crew only" then this truly is a crew area and you should not enter. The doors that everyone is talking about are legitimate doors that there is no restriction on entering. There are crew only forward decks as well, and you should not infringe on their area to get away from guests.
