victory2020 Posted November 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2013 I'm looking at the deckplans for the Sapphire & it appears that the bridge is on the Aloha deck. Am I correct?

victory2020 Posted November 29, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted November 29, 2013 No, the navigational bridge is on Lido deck... Thanks so much. Do you know what the empty space is at the front of Aloha deck?
f-mattox Posted November 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2013 Thanks so much. Do you know what the empty space is at the front of Aloha deck? That's a very good question. I've never noticed that before and I've been on Sapphire Princess several times. It doesn't say on any deck plans--even old ones. My guess is officers quarters because of its proximity to the bridge, but that's just a guess. I do hope somebody knows for sure.
skynight Posted November 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2013 Thanks so much. Do you know what the empty space is at the front of Aloha deck? Most likely bridge officer's cabins. Also, some of the cruise director's staff may have cabins there. That is where their cabins are on other grand class ships.

That was my guess, too. I was looking to book sideways inside all the way forward & I didn't want to be next to machinery, etc.
DrivesLikeMario Posted November 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2013 One way you know where the Bridge is: you see officers walking to and from it all day when you have a cabin on the Lido Deck. ;)

Cobraman Posted December 1, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Entry to the bridge is from deck 14, port side, end of the hallway. The entry door is electrically-locked and controlled from a monitoring station via CCTV. Once past it, you will find a couple of private offices for bridge officers, then another forward-facing door that leads on to the bridge.
Jasperdo Posted December 1, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 1, 2013 There's a great viewing area above the Bridge. It's not always open, but is a wonderful place to be when it is. Just go all the way forward on Deck 15. Here's a photo of it: Sapphire Princess by Jasperdo, on Flickr
