trkmas3122 Posted December 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2013 Hi!! Being from New England and sailing on January 17th, we will be in a tight bind if the Patriots make it that far in the playoffs. Does the Summit broadcast football games? I heard Michaels Club is known for this? Thanks!
carolslc Posted December 2, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2013 Hi. We'll be on the same cruise, and my dh is wondering the same thing. :-) He's not a die-hard fan of any particular NFL team, but I think he would go through severe withdrawals if not able to watch football. I've been following other threads where this is discussed and it seems like it's just up to those that control these things on the ship, and hope that they make the appropriate arrangements to both have access to the games, and to play them in one of the venues. But that nothing is guaranteed. Maybe someone else can post positive experiences on the Summit during football season.
K.T.B. Posted December 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2013 The only football experience I had on Summit was Super Bowl this past February. The ship was a ghost ship because mostly everyone was in the theater or Michael's Club or wherever else they were showing the game. I would guess during the playoffs they'll have the games on where they have TVs in the bars.
ECCruise Posted December 2, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2013 We've been on Celebrity ships during both playoffs and Super Bowl. Super Bowl always, last year on Solstice in the theater and a great time. Playoffs are hit and miss, particularly when there are 4 games/weekend in the early rounds. Sherman78 Posted December 3, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 3, 2013 We were on the Summit a couple of week ago and were able to watch Monday Night Football at the casino bar. Michael's Club had a private function but the bartender in the casino went out of his way to find the game for us on the tv.

Sfdtiller Posted December 3, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2013 Just got off the Summit for Thanksgiving and they showed all the Thursday games in the Casino, they were also on on Michaels, but got interrupted for other activities such as Karaoke or the trivia. Also showed the monday night game. It appeared they pick and choose for the sunday games, depends on what they get from the satellite would be my guess. So I would be willing to bet they show the playoff games.
Maligator Posted December 3, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2013 On Eclipse the last two weeks, they had all Thanksgiving Day games in Celebrity Central. In addition, Ch 24 (ESPN2) on our stateroom TV carried SNF, MNF, ThNF and a couple of daytime games on Sunday. They also added Ch 25 to carry football while Ch 24 (which seemed to be a West Indies brand of ESPN) carried metric football. I would imagine since you'll be in the Caribbean, it should be the same set up.
