csk Posted December 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2013 Hi Just booked a cabin on the Ruby, and after looking at the deck plans, it is right across from the laundry room, concerned about the noise, is it open all night, did anyone have issues with this cabin, not much left to change to, only ones way in the back and would rather not have those, thanks
deemak Posted December 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2013 Hi on cabin opposite laundry on diamond princess. No noise, it is closed between 10pm and 7am. Loved the location, as we were on a 19 night cruise. It appeared busy in the mornings. In the afternoon quiet so took advantage to do laundry. skynight Posted December 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2013 Ruby this season? No noise, closed at night, few will use the laundry on the 4 & 5 day cruises, and it is quick easy run across the hall to iron/steam if you want. No charge for irons. DrivesLikeMario Posted December 4, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2013 Very quiet area. Only noise is that during the day, you'll hear the door slamming shut which is the same as if you had inside cabins across from you but at least with the laundry room, the slamming stops at about 10pm! ;)
Rare Kinkacruiser Posted December 4, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 4, 2013 How convenient for you . Perfect for a longer cruise when you need to do laundry frequently.
Coveguy4 Posted December 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Also its a great shortcut to the other side of ship if friends cabins are there.... Just got off the Golden and used it as my own hallway to their cabin

FritzG Posted December 5, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) Also its a great shortcut to the other side of ship if friends cabins are there.... Just got off the Golden and used it as my own hallway to their cabin I don't think the laundry rooms on the Ruby don't go through to the other side. We always book as close to the laundry room as possible. We've been in two Baja cabins near the laundry room on the Ruby, and we never heard any noise. matj2000 Posted December 5, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Just wait until someone forgets to take the change out of the pockets or tries to dry their shoes. That will keep you up all night....
FritzG Posted December 5, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Just wait until someone forgets to take the change out of the pockets or tries to dry their shoes. That will keep you up all night.... If that happens you need to call your steward or housekeeping. Laundry rooms are supposed to be locked at night. We have never heard noise from the laundry room at night, and the only thing we hear during the day is a slamming door occasionally. We're not even sure if the slamming door is from the laundry room or a passenger cabin--or even the steward's area.
