Mcshells Posted December 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2013 We are flying into ft lauderdale and then driving to Naples for a few days. Looking for a family friendly quick and easy place to eat dinner enroute. Suggestions?
Mcshells Posted December 9, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Ok, so we are thinking of popping in at Lesters as we leave the airport. Having never flown into Fort Lauderdale before, wondering if the area is safe etc.

royalcruz Posted December 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Yes, it's fine, in fact I was going to suggest Lesters. The only thing is that there is so much construction that it's easy to get lost wherever you go from the airport for now. You are supposed to go from the airport to north on US1, left on SE 24th St (same as S.R. 84), and Lester's will be on your left within a mile. jackdiamond Posted December 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Why not just drive to Naples (about 1 1/2 hrs) and eat there.

We will have been traveling for about 7 or 8 hours on just snacks and I bet we will all be hungry and ready for food before making the drive

We also love USS Nemo...it's not downtown but they have excellent international food, very creative seafood dishes, and a delicious complimentary mediterranean appetizer plate (bread and dips). Have you tried Sweet Nectar on Las Olas yet? The old Tundra/Mancinis. The food is fantastic! My favorite new place.

We've been five or six times already and it is fantastic. Of course it is right around the corner from my house and that their happy hour is pretty cheap. Try the Brussel Sprouts. fireofficer5 Posted December 11, 2013 #18 Share Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) To the o.p. Depending on the time of day, there's always the Hard Rock hotel and casino. 15 minutes west of the airport. The Pig .
