Just Back from Legend

We just got back from our cruise on the Legend last week. We've cruised 10 times, mostly with carnival but also with Princess, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean.

Our Legend cruise was wonderful! The ship is beautiful and clean. I was a little worried because I know the ship was going to dry dock soon and a couple of reviews that I had read said it was not kept up. I don't know what they were talking about?

-We had a premium balcony room and it was really nice. loved the extra space!

-Our waiters in the MDR were absolutely fantastic! Catered to our every whim. The Dinners were all very good and hot. The prime rib was excellent! Really didn't have any dinners that we didn't like.

-We did the Chef's Table and it was a fantastic experience. I would definitely recommend it. Didn't get a chance to go to the steakhouse.

-The shows that we went to were very good. Ed Carr is fabulous! The comedians were good also.

-Cozumel: We did Nachi Cocom and really enjoyed the beach and food.

-Belize: we did cave tubing with cavetubing.bz.com. They were really good. Warning, it's quite a long walk to get to the caves! We thoroughly enjoyed it once we made it to the caves. should have brought a waterproof camera!

-Isla Roatan: Did a private tour with Victor Bodden Tours. Took us to the beach, monkey farm and a nice restaurant. Our tour guide Ron was fabulous. He stopped a couple of times to buy us some local goodies! I could see going back to Roatan for a week!

-Grand Cayman: we took a taxi to 7 Mile Public Beach and hung out at Calico Jack's. Great day on the beach there.

-on the Sea days, we enjoyed hanging out in the Adult only Serenity Area. It was always full, but people were always coming and going, so we always found a chair. No Chair Hog/saving issues at all.

- Lost some money in the casino.

-We purchased Faster to the Fun and think it was well worth it expecially since we had booked private tours and wanted to get off the boat quickly. We also never had to wait in line at the Guest Services Counter because we could use the special window for Faster to the Fun/Platinum.

-We had perfect weather the entire time.

-The only thing I can think of as a negative was breakfast in the MDR. The service was so slow for breakfast and then the food would be cold, not sure why? We ate at the buffet for most of the breakfasts after trying the MDR.

Also, we really missed the live music on Lido deck. they had a DJ out there and it's just not the same feel.

We really enjoyed this cruise! The ship, the food, the staff were all wonderful!

We were on Legend in November. Was a good cruise. I liked the ship and I agree, the MDR crew was fantastic. Our waiter/waitress was Elias and Tshering and they were fabulous.

I thought the food was just average, but not bad. The shows were pretty good, but Justin Illusion was horrible. I figured out all of his Magic tricks easily and the music was just bad.

The cruise director (Brent Mitchell) was pretty much absent except at the major events. I never saw him out an about.

One problem I had with legend is that you have to walk through the Casino to get to the front of the ship on the Promenade deck. We don't like cigarette smoke, but no way to avoid it expcept go up one level.

Overall a great cruise and I loved the Legend.

I agree about Brent. Pretty much the worst we've sailed with. However, Mikey Mike on the Mic was killing it! I say promote him to CD!

I pretty much agree with your statements about Legend, having sailed her several times, although I've always gotten excellent service in the dining room, even at breakfast. What "big shows" were being presented?

I'm looking forward to sailing "Legend" once more before she goes away!

So glad to hear you had a wonderful cruise.

The Legend is our favorite ship (we have sailed her 5 times already) and we have a cruise booked in April. Our biggest concern was that she might have lost her "feel" when she went abroad.

We have always found Legend to be the "friendliest" ship in the fleet and are excited to hear that the vibe hasn't changed.
