waterbug123 Posted December 19, 2013 #26 Share Posted December 19, 2013 We are on celebrity eclipse ship in dec and Iwonder if the drinks packages are worth having or not. Thanks! The only person who can answer that is you. Some people drink a lot on cruises, some don't drink a lot but drink more than they would at home, some have just a drink or two here and there and others don't drink at all. No one knows what or how much you like to drink so no one can really answer for you. For us, we wouldn't consider NOT getting it. It's just a no brainer, for us. An espresso or latte in the morning, 2-3 bottles of water a day, a diet coke at lunch, a couple of beers or a frozen drink by the pool, a martini before dinner. Cost-wise we've practically broken even before dinner, never mind that we don't have to sign for our drinks and our tab is prepaid months before the cruise. Once we add in wine with dinner, maybe an after dinner cordial or espresso, and cocktails in the casino we'd be downright silly not to get the package. micdee Posted December 19, 2013 #27 Share Posted December 19, 2013 I know they sell bottled water before leaving the ship when going ashore. I would like to know if it's available at most of the bars?
miched Posted December 19, 2013 #28 Share Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Thinking about if it is worth it or not will drive you to drink. We have sailed on many cruises without it and have never spent what the cost of the drink package would be. The tap water and house coffees are sufficient. Happy Hours and drink specials are also available along with having drinks on shore, and excursions. The last 3 cruises on X have been with the 123 promo where we took the package and upgraded to premium. We tended to drink more because we could but I doubt that it was enough to justify the cost. I know many will say it is for the convienance of not having to sign and etc but how many will also go thru the hassle of clipping coupons, use off site parking, try to sneak a bottle on board or buy a bottle of duty free liquor to save a dollar? Everyone has their own justifications and spending priorities. . Edited December 19, 2013 by miched

micdee Posted December 19, 2013 #30 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks, we have the beverage package but I wasn't sure whether we should still bring our own water onboard. I'll just get a couple at the bar and take them to the cabin.
