yancycruiser Posted December 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2013 I just received EDOCS for my January 25th cruise out of New Orleans. RCCL is offering the following Check-in times to better enhance check in and boarding experience. If you haven't reached at least Platinum status, they are giving you times to board, i.e. Deck 10 at 11am, Deck 9 at 11:30am, etc. Does anyone know if they are strict on this or if this is just suggested times? Thank you,
Clarea Posted December 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2013 First I've heard of staggered times here in the US. People have reported the staggered times being enforced in Australia, but I've seen no reports from the US yet.
TiggerTwo Posted December 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2013 The staggered lines were in Vancouver for the Radiance last summer.
cb at sea Posted December 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Most times, it's 1st come, first boarded! I'd rather be there early and have to wait a few minutes, than get there late! Boarding day is day one of the cruise you've paid for....get on that ship and start using it!

Thank you, We're on the same cruise - planning on ignoring it. We're on deck 9 but planning on getting to the port a bit before 11. We paid attention to an email in October for out Oasis cruise that said not to get to the port before 1:00... we usually get to the port about 11 but this time got there about 12:30 thinking there'd be a line if they're not letting anyone on... well, they'd been letting people on since 11am! I no longer pay attention to these suggestions.
Desertbelle Posted December 14, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Arrive when you want.
GTO-Girl Posted December 14, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2013 We had also gotten the email that said not to arrive before 12:30, when we sailed on the Allure out of FLL. We got to the port at 10:30 and even the RCI rep in the terminal was still saying we would not be allowed on until that time and we probably needed to leave and come back  We stayed in line with all the others that were already there.....checked in about 10 min later and was walking onboard by 11:30.......as usual. mm1251 Posted December 14, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2013 They have been doing this in Tampa for awhile. Bottom line: It's a guideline and not strictly enforced. Arrive when you want. Have FUN!
yancycruiser Posted December 14, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Thanks everyone. This is what I figured. We have always arrived prior to 11am.
