rhinomike Posted December 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I have been on over 25 cruises. I have been platinum for some time. But believe it or not I have only tendered into a port one time. It was a long time ago before I was platinum. We are on the Sunshine next week. We will be tendering into Grand Cayman. We have an early excursion booked to Sting Ray City. We want to get off ASAP. I know we have priority tendering. Do most go to customer service and get escorted off or just go on your own to the tendering area and then go to the front of the line? Or is there a seperate tendering line for Platinum cruisers? Thank you.
NCTribeFan Posted December 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I've done it twice at Half Moon Cay, both times on Fantasy-class ships. I went down to the Service Desk, told them I was ready to leave, and was escorted down and put at the front of the tender line. Not very pleasant experience the first time, when I was solo. A tender had just left so I was down there all by myself when the hordes arrived for the next one. A woman started yelling at me, accusing me of sneaking down to get at the front of the line when they'd been up in the lounge waiting. She was really obnoxious. The entertainment staff guy who was "guarding" the line tried to explain to her that I was "special" and a VIP, so I got priority service. She continued to be loud and obnoxious. I'm sure it was just an accident that daughter rammed the baby stroller against my heels while we were standing there. I'm sure there are some people who just go down to the tender line but I'd prefer to do it the "official" way, just to avoid the hostilities! christmas Posted December 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Just go to Guest Services and they will escort you down to the tender.
JMAE Posted December 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2013 When we were on the Pride last October we just walked down to the tendering area and went to the front of the line. Also, if you have an early excursion you should get priority tendering for that too.
golfadj Posted December 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2013 We walk down to deck 0 flashing our platinum sign and sail card and they put us right on the next tender being boarded. Never have had a problem.

evandbob Posted December 24, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 24, 2013 NP one of the few remaining worthwhile perks for being platinuym. Guest services on the Liberty asked platinum cruisers to come to the 3rd deck area and a group of twenty/thirty of us were led by one Carnival employee to the first tender in Cayman and Belize. Very efficient. For final debarkation, we assembled in the Persian room and were green lighted as first off the ship as soon as Customs gave the ok. bookcreator Posted December 24, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 24, 2013 (edited) Much of it has to do with how many platinum there are on your cruise, and how many people "in their party," they are bringing along with them. The amount of platinum has swelled considerably over the last year as everyone tries to qualify for platinum before the deadline. It depends on the cruise, but often there is too many platinum, and FTTF people and they announce that because of the huge numbers, they are suspending it or they do what they did on our cruise when better that 3/4 of the entire ship was diamond, platinum, FTTF or "in their party." They allow you to bring up to 10 "people in your party." On our last tender port that meant that there were over 1200 people overflowing out of a big lounge for "priority tendering." We are diamond, and we turned around and stayed on the ship. It was not a happy scene - 1200 people with "priority." When everyone is entitled to the perk, it isn't a perk anymore.
