NCL Dawn Owners Suite 10006 pics

These pictures give you an idea of this suite. Truly it is HUGE, probably more than 900 sq ft plus the balconies. We loved it and had PLENTY of room to spread out.

Side balcony. This is part of the side balcony. It's a double balcony, so it's quite roomy.

One half of walk-in closet. Both sides have hanging space, cupboards above and drawers below. There is a dressing vanity in between. Both sides also have safes.

Bathroom has double sinks, jetted tub (with TV above), walk-in shower and separate toilet area. You could get lost in here!

Forward balcony. The forward balcony is directly below the bridge (wave to the Captain!). Not really useable when at sea, due to the wind, but that's why there is the wonderful side balcony to use.

I know! I have yet to talk my husband into a suite..... He doesn't think the perks are worth an extra $1300 even though we'd get $300 in OBC versus just $50 in a balcony room.

 

my DW used to say the same I went ahead and just booked and never told her now she loves the suite life:)

 

in the slogan of a famous brand JUST DO IT ;)

Thank you so much for sharing these. I have been searching for pictures of this suite. How was the motion in the front when at sea? I am hoping for calm seas...Can hardly wait. Who did you have as your concierge? butler? Do you know if they will be there mid January? Thank you in advance for your response.

Yes, I couldn't find pics of this suite before booking it, so took the chance - and loved it! The motion wasn't bad at all. We did have 7.5 foot waves (not huge) coming back and you could feel the roll - but that was true even midship. As far as comparing the motion to other ships we've been on, I'd say the Dawn felt very stable 99% of the time.

 

Our concierge was Roel Gonzales. Though we didn't see that much of him, he was very helpful and recognized us when we did. And he had his staff call us every afternoon to see if we needed any dinner reservations and what show we could be attending. Our butler was Ahkman Mohel (I think that's the last name) and he was just wonderful. We had some problems with the Lavazza coffee machine and he came and replaced it twice. He was always available, always smiling and helpful and just a delight. He picked up on our preferences for afternoon snacks (I like salty; hubby likes sweet) and provided just the right snacks. Our steward, nickname is "Jordan" was a delight, too. He recognized us as we were entering our room - called us by name with a welcome. And, he made the best towel animals (OK, usually that's for kids, but I confess a certain childlike delight in finding them at night) :-).

 

We just loved it all and would book this suite and the Dawn again!

Our favorite room but I have to wait until 8/15 to be there.:D

Question about OS. If spouse wants to sleep in while other gets up, what is the arrangement/privacy in this cabin?

 

Its perfect . Get up , close the slider doors AND the drapes dividing the bedroom and salon. You have access to the other powder room plus coffee plus the side balcony. I love these OS suites..;)

OMG. So much nicer and so many more neat things compared to 12000, the deluxe owner suite. It has 2 bedrooms and no balconies, tons of windows but this suite seems even nicer. I think we will pick this one! Thanks for sharing.

The only real downside to the OS on the Star and Dawn vs. DOS is that they are in need of some TLC. We were in 10006 on the Dawn and the light switches were worn (there are a lot of them), the hole where the old tv was wasn't filled in (couple inch in size), the replacement tv and dvd player in the bedroom was kind of loosely placed, the nice wood doors are kind of dinged up.

 

IMO the carpet they put in there doesn't really match. The carpet that was in there prior was really nice from the old pictures I had seen. Each of the OS on the Dawn and Star had a different color scheme - including bathroom colors - so to speak. They were well coordinated. As they have replaced the carpet, it looks like they are using that same carpet for all rooms. They did put in the new couch that made the room available for 4 which was nice. The sofa bed was comfy for our kids but would not be big enough for adults really.

 

The other couple nice things is they had ketchup, mustard, salt, etc. in the cabinets next to the dining table. They kept extra water and soda in the side cabinets by the fridge so you could restock on your own. It was also really quiet in that part of the ship.

We were in the Dawn DOS starboard corner, so we had pretty much the same view that the Bridge did, but we were one level up.

 

If we were seated (or in bed) nothing below could be seen - just the amazing view of the water all around us. (In the corner DOS, the view wraps all the way around and one can look backwards down the side of the ship.)

 

When we were standing or seated closer to the wall of windows, if we looked down, most of what could be seen was the front area of the Deck 9 OS balconies, which are larger, and further forward than the Deck 10 OS balconies.

 

However, either way, we would not have been able to see anyone who was sitting "back" a bit on the balcony. (Well, I don't think so - we couldn't see that area, so don't really know "how much space" was completely shielded, obviously!)

 

We've made a few more reservations, including two in an OS, so obviously, we don't think it troublesome if a couple of people (DOS and Bridge) happen to be looking down if we happen to be at the front of the balcony.

 

We've also booked a DOS again (no balcony, but that view... and right from the bed!!!).

 

Our next trip will be a Haven suite (Pearl; Dawn doesn't have a regular Haven area), with the smaller side balcony. It was the only suite available by the time we decided upon the cruise.

I'm a bit afraid we'll miss the view of "where we are going", especially arriving at Ports.

DH got spoiled on his first cruise, that's for sure.

It took me years to get him to try one (I'd been on several and love the idea of "the hotel follows you around at night"), and as soon as we got home, he was online looking for more :)

 

Can't wait for the next one!

We are going to be in 9006 next month. I know there will be some differences, but really appreciate seeing the pictures. Were you able to see people sitting on the 9006 balcony from 10006?

 

 

Yes again unless they were sitting back towards there door

But to see onto deck nine you have to be stood at the rail looking out
