respondeat.cruiser Posted December 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2013 Happy New Year! I hope it brings happiness for everyone, and maybe a HAL cruise for everyone here. I've been trying to figure this out off and on today, and I'm finally willing to pull over, and ask for help :) When do HAL ships do west-to-east transpacific cruises? That is, when do they go from Asia/Australia to the US? Thanks for the help! RC
take us away Posted December 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2013 If you go on the HAL site to DESIGN your VACATION, use the Europe drop down box for 'where you want to go' One of the drop down boxes for 'destination' is transatlantic. This will show all the cruises going across the ATL. There are not too many Asia to US cruises beyond the Grand voyages as some of the other ships stay in Asia but check the Volendam, Veendam and Amsterdam. Here is the link for the overview of cruises on all the HAL ships: http://www.hollandamerica.com/assets/Miscellaneous/Holland-America-cruises-Sailing-Schedule.pdf?WT.ac=pnav_Dest_SailSchd
Rare Vict0riann Posted December 26, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2013 I think it would be in the Spring that the Volendam comes trans-Pacific (to join up with the Alaska cruises), but it's very much to the north of the Pacific, through Japan, Russia, etc.
bronte2 Posted December 26, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2013 April is usually the month the ships leave the South Pacific and Asia. Oosterdam is leaving Sydney on 13 April 2014 and travelling to Seattle or Vancouver via the South Pacific. Volendam is doing a North Pacific crossing from Tokyo to Vancouver on 14 April. I believe the schedule is similar in 2015. Hope this helps.

I am on that Oosterdam cruise from Sydney to Seattle (you can stay on for one more day to disembark in Vancouver). As posted, we sail 4/13/14. I am also on the Volendam trans-Pac in 2015. There is a Collectors' Cruise from Hong Kong to Tokyo on 4/13/15, then continuing Tokyo to Vancouver on 4/29/15.
SilvertoGold Posted December 26, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2013 As Ruth notes, you have two choices. Both are super cruises and we love them, especially the one from Hong Kong. A great combination of fabulous ports and a relaxing time across the Pacific.
