Weather in Jan.

I have never took a cruised in Jan. We are wondering how dress ? Will we be able to enjoy the water at Coco Kay? Thanks in advanced!

We've been on the same itinerary in January on Monarch several times. Temps were in the high 70's. Water was not as warm as September, but we still enjoyed snorkelling.

Same here. Did a couple cruises in Jan. Depending on weather the winter time seas can choppy. I've had a Coco Cay stop canceled due to seas being to choppy for tenders.

You could expect cool temps in Florida, if they happen to get a front thru there, but for the most part it will be in the upper 70's to the mid 80's. We usually cruise in January and February and the temps have been very pleasant, but the people from Florida will be wearing coats and we come from the frozen north and are in our bathing suits and think this is the best weather ever!:rolleyes::D

Beginning of Jan. the ports nearest FL (Bahamas) had slightly cooler temps while those farther south like St. Thomas etc. had warmer water temps. End of Jan. for the last two years it was very nice all around.

It really depends on what you are used to. I think the Bahamas is too cold in January. I have gone swimming--but, I have to get used to the water temp. Brr!

 

The Caribbean is very nice. :D

 

We have also had rocky seas near the NC coast when we left from Baltimore.

Same here - have cruised the Bahamas and the Caribbean in January and the Bahamas are just too cold for me in January. I like hot sun and swimming though. It just depends what you like. I've also found a lot of rain in the Bahamas in Dec/Jan.
