Josy1953 Posted January 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Blimey, never seen more than 2! New Years Eve always sees more ships than usual in Madeira because of the fireworks displays that can be seen .

dorsetlad Posted January 1, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2014 We should have been there on Aurora, but unfortunately my wife had an operation for mouth cancer on Christmas Eve. However, we have rebooked the cruise for next Christmas/New Year. We are determined to see that fireworks display. I'm pleased to report that my wife came through the operation very well, and is making good progress. she should be back home by the weekend. Yes it has been a nightmare; and the road ahead is going to be difficult, but not as difficult as it could have been. We now have something definite to concentrate our minds over the coming months.PopsiB perhaps we will meet on board. we will be the couple looking like the cat that got the cream.
