crackupforlaughs Posted January 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2014 I realize I am posting quite a bit on this forum, but I sure do appreciate the feedback and tips I get! Is there a Whole Foods or other natural food place near Bayport, specifically near the Springhill Suites/Seabrook? I need to get black or tart cherry juice (a cup at night is a great natural sleep inducer, at least for this insomniac for which nothing else worked unless it left me drowsy the next day). I'd rather buy it there than risk it breaking in my check-on baggage with the airline. I'd check it like bottled water for the ship. It only comes in glass bottles. And, we don't have a rental car, so something that is within walking distance or a short taxi ride. Thanks!

Seabrook is a small community on the bay and there is not a lot of businesses in the area that you can walk to that would sell natural foods. chsalas Posted January 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) 6 miles from the port, there's a Spec's beverage store, they sell wine, beer, liquor and other beverages. You could try them, there is also a target and walmart in that same vicinity. https://www.google.com/maps/preview#!data=!1m4!1m3!1d133455!2d-94.9707907!3d29.5712723!4m27!3m21!1m4!3m2!3d29.6101949!4d-94.9920703!6e2!1m5!1s210+Hanson+Rd%2C+Kemah%2C+TX+77565!2s0x863f62e22f1d235f%3A0x345ec1c13433a3d3!3m2!3d29.538469!4d-95.020351!2e0!3m8!1m3!1d66729!2d-94.9796753!3d29.5691739!3m2!1i1441!2i923!4f13.1!7m4!11m3!1m1!1e1!2b1&fid=0 Edited January 8, 2014 by chsalas

As you can imagine, their stores are only located in high end neighborhoods. Found that there aren't any stores southeast of downtown Houston. Although there are neighborhoods SE of town that would be considered high end, there isn't enough in concentration to warrant a Whole Foods. crackupforlaughs Posted January 8, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted January 8, 2014 thanks. I tried to google Whole Foods or other natural foods and found nothing, hence the post. Oh well, better get plenty of bubble wrap and well-sealed bags for my cherry juice bottles! It has really worked for my sleep, so well worth the trouble. Essentially, it's a sealed bag, padded on the outside with diaper material inside. They're used for transporting wine in checked baggage. Theory is that if the bottle breaks, then the diaper material absorbs the spillage plus the bag is sealed. They're reusable. About $5/bag. Google wine diaper. Since you are limited to walking, I suggest the following. o Using maps.google.com locate your hotel o Use the "search nearby" option to locate the type of store you want If anything is close by, that will show the names and locations
