Rare insidecabin Posted January 21, 2014 #29 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Was wondering what type of hairdryer is in each cabin. Been on cruises before and the hairdryers have been tiny and won't work for my thick hair. Are they full size hairdryers? Thanks! JUst checked my Photos. ashley@cruisecritic Posted January 21, 2014 Author #31 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Hi all, Thanks for your questions! I'm putting them into a Word document as soon as they come in so I don't miss any. I'll do my best to get them all addressed. However, please keep in mind that this is a modified sailing (mostly for press and travel agents), so they might not have traditional dailies or kids activities. I'll see what I can dig up, though. Rare KeithJenner Posted January 21, 2014 #33 Share Posted January 21, 2014 From what I've seen and read, it appears the casino is kind of spread out on the 7th deck and not contained in any one space. Kids are generally not allowed in casinos, so how does this work when visiting the 7th deck (O'Sheehan's, etc.)? Do the kids just need to be sure they are constantly moving along, and not pausing to look at the lights and bells and whistles? This layout is the same as the Breakaway and similar to the Epic. Kids can walk through no problem (although some people complain about the smoke so you may want to avoid it as much as you can). I suspect that they would be moved along if the hung around a table, but it's never been an issue for us. No need to rush through covering their eyes or anything. :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Rare KeithJenner Posted January 21, 2014 #34 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Will the iConcierge app be available for the Getaway? It will certainly be available. We couldn't get it to work last week because the TV wouldn't give us a PIN, but my phone recognised it and asked for the PIN. Joyful100 Posted January 22, 2014 #36 Share Posted January 22, 2014 Hi, Thanks for offering to get our questions answered. I just want a bit more info on the Vibe Beach Club. How much for a weekly pass on the Getaway? Any discount for 2-3 purchases? Is smoking allowed in this area? Thanks again.
trtllovr Posted January 23, 2014 #37 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Will they provide bed bumpers for the couch bed in the balcony staterooms? I need to figure out if I have to bring my own or get my toddler a crib. Unless you can turn the couch around and face it to the wall but others have said the couch is attached to the wall. nvrgrownold Posted January 23, 2014 #38 Share Posted January 23, 2014 Hi all, I'll be sailing on Norwegian Getaway on the Jan. 27-29 cruise to nowhere out of New York. While onboard, I'll also be attending a Q&A session. I haven't been told who, exactly, will be on the panel yet, but I assume there will be some NCL execs. If there's something you're dying to know, post it below, and I'll do my best to get as many questions answered as I can. (Please try to keep them Getaway related.) Thanks! Thanks for taking our questions and hopefully getting some answers. Could you ask if they are planning any theme parties (such as white or glow), pub crawls, martini tastings, etc. Also, we will be sailing during St. Patrick's Day. Will there be anything planned for us Irish or the want to be Irish for a day passengers? Thanks again!
craig-n-carol Posted January 23, 2014 #39 Share Posted January 23, 2014 This question has been asked before, but I don't feel the existing threads have properly answered this question from those with actual experience. Concerning the UDP for suite pax, does it include in-suite dining from the specialty restaurants if we purchase the UDP?

Concerning the UDP for suite pax, does it include in-suite dining from the specialty restaurants if we purchase the UDP? I don't know the answer. But should be YES as it is a WIN-WIN-WIN. Happy pax, happy NCL (more revenue and frees a spot in the venue) and happy Butler (more tips as it is special service). VanessaM Posted January 24, 2014 #41 Share Posted January 24, 2014 Would Norwegian consider including a stop at Great Stirrup Cay on Getaway's itinerary? Perhaps in place of Nassau. Glen&Kathy Posted January 24, 2014 #44 Share Posted January 24, 2014 We are looking at booking our first aft facing balcony room. The website indicates the square footage is between 250-516 sq ft and was wondering, since the aft is tiered does the balcony get bigger on the lower decks or does the room get a little bigger or both? Thanks! G

Would love to get whatever details anyone has on the iConcierge app, don't know anything about this or what it does. Also, any details on Vibe would be appreciated. How much? Can we reserve ahead of time? Etc. Thanks! iConcierge is an app you can download to your smartphone that offers things like the ability to view your onboard account and daily schedules that you can use for free for your ship/sailing. You can book things like spa treatments and specialty restaurants, too. It also allows you to stay in touch with others on your sailing (as long as they have the app, too) via a messaging system that hooks into the ship's Wi-Fi for a one-time flat fee of about $9 per cruise. (It's significantly cheaper than paying to use the Wi-Fi without the app.) I've never personally used it, though, so I can't attest to its functionality. The app will be available on Getaway, but it hasn't rolled out yet, according to Norwegian's PR folks. They've promised to let me know when they have an official launch date. Food from the specialty restaurants can be delivered to your cabin if you're in a suite and have purchased the unlimited dining package. The only specialty restaurant it doesn't apply to is Ocean Blue, which doesn't do delivery (no clue why).

The only specialty restaurant it doesn't apply to is Ocean Blue, which doesn't do delivery (no clue why). Can I just clarify that a little. There are two issues here, whether a restaurant is included in the UDP and whether you can get it delivered to your suite. Ocean Blue isn't included in the UDP, I assume because it is a lot more expensive than the others. The a la carte places are also not included. As regards delivery to the Suite, I don't know about Ocean Blue, but Teppenyaki and Moderno are not available because of the nature of the meals (cooked or carved at the table). That is regardless of whether you have the package or are paying by the meal. I think that's what you meant, but it didn't read like that to me. The aft balconies sizes on the stern do vary significantly depending on deck. Largest to smallest; 9,12,11,10,14,13. The aft cabins do have slight differences in interior sgft within specific categories, which can be somewhat seen on deck plans. But I wouldn't be surprised to hear NCL say all aft cabins in a given category are the same size internally, and the varying total sqft is the balconies. These differences in interior sgft for aft cabins are not noted anywhere AFAIK, that's indicative how little the difference encompass, IMO. Also many pax have noticed sound from Spice H20 sailing aft. The farther(lower) away you are located the less the sound. Of course some enjoy the sounds, some not so much. ;) Have you seen this?
